Do anyone know roughly the total world wide sale.
Who has more 1D or leona? Obvously leona has the advantage
of being out longer?

And what about other sucessful acts like JLS, Olly, Alex, Cher ect? Have any of them passed the 5 million or 10 million mark? Even shayne must have about 3 2 million? And matt?

Leona has sold the most, clocking at just under 25million. 1D must be close now though, I'd say around 15million. Alexandra was reported to have sold 4million after the Overcome era. Weren't JLS supposed to have done 10million? I think it's more like 5 at the most. Cher should be around 3million or just under. That's all I've got, most of those are estimates aswell. I don't think concrete figures are out-there for most of them.

In terms of album sales, tracking worldwide is difficult. Mediatraffic do compile sales from most major markets. Their stats so far have One Direction on 8.1m albums sold (4.4m of Up All Night, 3.7m of Take Me Home). Not sure about singles, but potentially more than 10m. Based on RIAA cetifications they've got about 6m in the US alone.

Estimates for Spirit range from about 6-7m. Echo about 1m (possibly less, possibly as high as 1.4m). Bleeding Love alone has sold 9m worldwide.

The rest are nowhere near. JLS are really UK only where they've sold about 2.5m. Olly is in similar territory.

Shayne has sold over 1m UK albums. He had some international success but mainly in smaller markets so I've no idea of the numbers.

G4 (series 1) also sold 1m UK albums.

Diana Vickers has sold roughly half a million records, not that big but she never really went international!

It's sad that people will read your post and deem her to have failed.. compare that to what the average aspiring recording artist will achieve.

Alexandra has sold over 4m records and she must have about 100 - 200k sales from Europe on top of that. JLS have not sold 10m records "worldwide" as they've never released anything outside the UK & Ireland besides the US. The figure is more like 4m or 5m at the most.

JLS only sold 2.5m? Are you sure about that? With all the albums and singles they've brought out, I'm sure their sales are much higher than that figure.

    UK Only Sales:

Leona Lewis has sold a combined 7.5+ Millionish records (and a hell of a lot more worldwide).

JLS have sold a combined 5.5+ Millionish records.

Olly Murs has sold a combined 5+ Millionish records.

Alexandra Burke has sold a combined 4+ Millionish records.

One Direction have sold a combined 3+ Millionish records (and a hell of a lot more worldwide).

Shayne Ward sold a combined 2.5+ Millionish records.

Cher is probably close to 5 million if she hasn't reached it already. Want U Back has sold 2,000,000 in the US and then add on Oath's sales and then her album and you'll probably get to around 2,500,000 in the US alone. Add on her UK success and then she's done relatively well in countries like Australia as well.

Think she's on about 3,000,000 singles and about 370k+ albums. Based on UK, Ire, USA, Aus, NZ, Japan. Various others round the world but no idea what sales are in say Canada, Brazil, etc. Vevo helps too - 229M so far.

Sorry, should have been clearer, albums only take them to something a bit over 2.2m. Singles will add a bit more on top of that.
