Question about syncing iPhone after new hard drive installation - bit confused

Ok, so I recently installed a new hard drive so invariably I was going to have to do the major re-sync with my iPhone.
I did an iCloud backup and also had my original library backed up from my old drive, but I was aware that i'd likely have to erase the iPhone and re-sync it as it would effectively be a new computer, but that was fine.
Used Sharepod to copy all my music off the phone, added in all my custom ringtones and playlists and synced. Told me it would have to erase and sync, so I clicked ok and it did it all.
Checked everything and it all seemed fine - music was there, as were the ringtones and playlists. The problem is that the album art is messed up.
Locally, on my hard drive though, it's not - the album art and details i've manually updated are all still there and correct. Just a bit confused as to why this hasn't been reflected on the phone?
