Television X Call Girls

wow, well Television X has certainly moved it up a notch recently.

Having previously seen their pathetic attempt at selling their 12-month rip-off uncancel-able package before, i stumbled across their new 10min Freeview advert tonight and was quite suprised.

They now have a 30minute call in show called Callgirls, 10mins of which is free and 20 minutes encrypted. it's a bit like babestation but it doesnt mess around and tease, they just writhe around naked while talking dirty and begging you to sign up to their channel.

What suprised me was at the end of the 10 minute freeview, all 4 presenters give full knickers-off spread leg shots, which i thought along with erect penises was reserved for only R18 films i.e. a BIG no no for unencrypted TV!

im curious now, have the laws changed at all, and can anyone tell me how far do the Xxx-rated channels now go after encryption begins (im just curious..yes really!)

The law hasn't changed, if thats not allowed then expect them to get in trouble!!!

Although I thought they could show what you describe.

Basically they can show this type of thing at 18. It's penetration they cannot show which is reserved for R18.

Some of the channels are showing pretty hard material but way short of R18 with the occassional slip up.

None are worth subscribing to though until the restriction on R18 is lifted.

R18's will NEVER be shown on cable or satellite in this country.

It was discussed in parliament a few months ago and the same tired old "we must protect the children" argument was brought out and used successfully once again.

That's why any channel that dares to show erections or penetration is "prescribed" by the government. They basically don't ban the channel because they can't - they just ban the sale of the necessary equipment or cards to view it.

And yet any child with a credit card and a computer can easily download R18 (and worse) broadcast quality content.

Surely late night, pin protected porn would be LESS accessible to minors.

Not quite. BBFC and Ofcom have agreed erections can be shown in 18 cert sex films. The point at wich they can't is when said erection comes (parden the pun) into contact with something else like a hand, mouth, other person etc..

R18 and stronger is available on satelite in this country from broadcasts originating outside the UK but not through the Sky platform. The equipment is not illegal to buy and can be obtained from numerous supermarket chains. There are many free to air transmissions of R18 and stonger material.

With higher speed internet connections, VOD etc it will be harder if not impossible for Ofcom to regulate (VOD and internet not currently covered by Ofcom) so a ban on UK based transmissions will become pointless and will only serve to lose money for british companies.

On another point, Sky's 18Plus movies were recently showing LoversGuide films on all their channels. They are as near to R18 as you would get but because they are classed as educational they got an 18 cert. I am sure that all the people that viewed them did so for education reasons. Yeah right! In one of them the participants were all porn stars but if you wanted to watch one of their other films they had starred in doing exactly the same things you cant.

This amused me, and I have no idea why :o Maybe I just have a dirty mind

Flash the gash on Live TV is just painful, some unsexy ladettes wiggling their unshapely cooches in the names of entertainment.

Yes, this is true. Although "9 Songs" is currently on Sky Box Office, but this is considered "art" and the porn is supposedly "essential" to the plot (that's what they all say ;) ). The film is screamingly dull though.

I must say i'm surprised. 99% of the time, the viewing cards are banned as soon as the government gets wind of them. If there are channels broadcasting R18's, encrypted or otherwise, they must have kept their heads down and kept off the government radar - good luck to them.

Exactly. Although it took this country a hell of a long time to legalise hardcore porn, so I can't imagine we'll be seeing any kind of deregulation any time this century.

Yeah, Lovers Guide is another "get around" for hardcore porn, although I think the intent was actually quite genuine from the producers to produce genuine educational content. They probably only used porn stars because they'd have a hard job (no pun intended :D) finding "normal" people willing - and able - to have sex on camera.

Essentially, the R18 titles that are just sex scene after sex scene will never get shown. Think Ben Dover and you've got the idea. Even the films from companies like Vivid Video with fairly high production values will never really get shown as they're still porn films at the end of the day - which does seem to be a double standard, but then this IS the UK !!.

Earlier this year I witnessed the first and only erect penis / penetration scene shown on teresrial tv! I was watching a late night film on C4 called The Idiots - a dogma film. It only lasted a few seconds and thought I might have imagined it, so looked it up on the internet and found several reports referencing that it had taken place. One year previous to this, The idiots was shown and they blurred the penetration, but this time they let it be shown freely. Amazing eh!

    Here's the proof - http://news.independent.co.uk/media/article5981.ece

The state of adult entertainment on British TV is just laughable. It wouldn't be so bad if the situation wasn't so confused.

The so-called adult channels show extremely heavily-censored sexual content, which is apparently OK by Ofcom, even though it's pretty obvious what's going on and even though it's censored viewers can still watch fairly explicit images. This means, if it's OK by Ofcom, that such images would not be "damaging" to children if they "accidentally" tuned in late at night, paid the subscription and used their parents' PIN number, but uncensored R18 material would be damaging, since it's not allowed.

I wish someone would tell me why this is so - excuse the frankness of what I'm about to write, but would it really be so bad if a child saw a woman sucking a man's penis rather than seeing the back of her head bobbing up and down on his midriff?

In any case, as others have pointed out, there's also the total hypocrisy of prohibiting R18 imagery on the adult channels while at the same time we can see such imagery on films like The Idiots, 9 Songs, In the Cut etc. all freely available on the movie channels with no PIN protection or even on FTA channels like C4.

Either show explicit sex or don't, but don't make fools of the viewing public by giving with one hand and taking away with the other.

I think they're basically terrified of having a proper, adult discussion on the subject for fear of a tabloid backlash.

The likes of the Daily Mail and the Sun would get hold of it and never let go - they'd give you the impression that we're all paedophiles and perverts, and the government probably don't want any of that because the papers would whip up such a kerfuffle, middle england would riot in the streets ;)

i think the really sad thing is that this whole "pornography is filthy and perverted" stems from and gives more fuel to the age-old british attitude that sex is somehow dirty and secret and something to be ashamed of.

this warped attitude is then passed onto our kids, with parents afraid to discuss sex education, and poor school sex lessons which consist of little more than basic facts drowned out by embaressed adolesent sniggering.

sadly this whiole situation is the exact reason we have the highest level of teenage pregnancy in Europe, and one of the highest in the Western world!

Yeah, because The Sun is really a good paper to comment on people looking at other naked people ;)

On a similar vein to this is the farce which exists at the annual EROTICA show in London where dispite on allowing adults only into the exhibition, full nudity was refused this year after it was allowed last year for the first time, whilst the internal R18 video village allowed to have moniters showing R18 videos, and has indeed been able to do for several years
