    More top work from Murun

"In 1995, the BBC showed a Michael Cockerell documentary called Westminster’s Secret Service about the role of the chief whip, whose task it is to ensure MPs attend important debates and vote as the party leadership desires. It was revealed that the chief whip kept a little black ‘dirt book’ which contained information about MPs, and this was used as a method of political control."

I saw this tweet about the same thing:- https://twitter.com/GerardTubbSky/status/333323036159770624
but the image seems to have been taken down quite quickly, from what I saw of the responses - I had a quick look but cant see any mention of the story on the Sky site either

I have a feeling if Charles was involved in a coverup it would be a paper other than the Daily Star reporting it somehow.

Still receiving key info abt well known people. Vital this info is carefully investigated by the police- which I am happy 2 help 2 facilitate.

I wonder how many of his facilitations will end up on his new TV series
I agree he's a bit of an egotist, but at the same time victims approach him because they think that they won't be believed if they go to the police.

If that was said a year ago I might believe it, now I don't, whilst he did a great job exposing Savile he should now be telling people to go straight to the police, not offering to facilitate it like some booking agent.

Exactly. The way he appears to revel in it all is very distasteful.

At least five more household names will be investigated by detectives after a string of alleged victims came forward.

Men and women have brought complaints against two singers, a pair of TV personalities and a comedian.

I've been following the Savile stuff and indeed this thread from the off.

I still don't understand the posters/ people who say-

    1) They don't know why people who were abused years ago didn't speak up at the time and imply that as they didn't, it's a bit late to come forward now.

    2) People who have reported so called 'minor offences' shouldn't really bother as the police investigation should only be focused on major incidents such as rape.

My personal views on the above-

    1) It's outrageous to suggest that there should be some kind of time limit on this kind of thing. As many posters have pointed out, victims may have a myriad of reasons for why they perhaps haven't come forward until now- fear, shame being just a couple of possibles.

    2) If we truly want a warts and all, transparent enquiry into this, I would think that ALL instances should be reported, regardless of whether they are perceived by some as being 'less important'. If we are to have a fully open and honest investigation, ALL instances, minor and major should surely be taken into account, to give a fully represenatative picture of what went on. Let the police and legal system decided what is 'worthy of prosecution' and what isn't.

    Just my tuppence worth.

I agree with you entirely; this sums up my thoughts on it all.

It was around for a while as you say as he visited his place in Scotland in full view of many people though.

Mind you if you go to the DI forum( I look every now and again to see what madness is rearing its ehad ) its all new and this is the reason the Queen is scaling back her duties as she is preparing to abdicate. When in fact she is 87 and cutting back on overseas travel.

Quite silly of anyone to redact anything about Prince Charles and Stoke Mandeville, as is said it was public knowledge he was a Patron, unless someone redacted it to make it look suspicious.

"West Yorkshire later conceded that four of Savile’s victims were aged five. It said two victims had come forward last December and two earlier this year. "

    (my italics)

looks like some good journalism by the Telegraph.

Where are those "masterminds" on here, who claimed savile was not a true "paedo" because he only attacked pubescent girls, when the truth is he went after anything that moved, and in all probability even some that couldn't move.

I think you will find that earlier on in this case the attacks did not appear to be on children that young which is why some people pointed out the difference between a paedophile and what was being reported at the time which Savile was both a Hebephile and Ebephile in addition to being a molestor of adults.

Yes now we can say he was a Paedophile as well as there are cases being reported, but before giving someone the wrong label you find out the facts, if a man raped a 16 / 17 year old girl tomorrow you would call him a rapist , you wouldnt call him a paedophile if at that point you did not know he had also attacked young children.

The case and its discussion is not about point scoring.

Surely if you are privy to information that has been witheld and is obstructing and perverting the course of justice you have a duty to report it ?

What makes you think I haven't?

    Edit:
I wasn't going to elaborate but my cousin is an Inspector in the WYP. I reported what I knew to him some time ago (even though this is not his remit- he works in a different field). Turned out he was already aware of what I told him, as were some of his colleagues so I left it at that. I cannot say any more because it would involve naming names, which I will not be drawn into doing so on here.

What twaddle...someone in their 40's in the 1960's would be in their 90's now. What they going to do threaten to mow down with their mobility scooters anyone who speaks out?

Not twaddle at all. Some of the more 'newly retired' aren't quite ready for their zimmer frames yet and where have I said that this relates to incidents that only took place in the 60's??? Savile carried on long after that.

I have stated clearly on DS, numerous times, how strongly I feel about 'no smoke without fire' allegations and rumour so I'm hardly likely to throw out spurious accusations.

I have accepted the outcome of the WYP enquiry and know that the issue I was concerned with has been investigated but it doesn't mean I'm happy with it.

Tell us Hydon, what Holmesian methods did you use to deduce Savile was indeed a paedophile? There was no evidence whatsoever until recently, unlike his fondness for teenage girls, so how did you crack the case?
