Is this some kind of record for a none 4G speed?

Not normally up to do a speed test this early in the morning/late at night but just got a 27.62mbps upload and 3.38mbps upload, that's superb for a none 4G speed is it not?

Three network and iphone 5 ;)

Highest I've ever had is 28.87 download and a 5.29mbs upload at 2:36PM. Which is only slightly below my home broadband in download and over double in upload. That isn't consistent obviously and was outdoors highest indoors is around 16-19 mbs.

Speeds above 10-15mbs aren't really important the coverage is far more important which is where 4G on all networks should shine as they all have 800MHz. In theory even the 2x5MHz EE and Three have should be enough spectrum to deliver consistent 10-20mbs speeds in nearly all indoor places.

Jabbamk1, what's the highest speed of a bog standard UK S3?

The fastest I've had on mine is 12.81mbs (on Three).

    Tia :)

Theoretical highest is 21mbps. But you'll probably never see more than 15/16Mbps in real life conditions.

The LTE version of Galaxy S3 supports up to 42Mbps

Sorry, the fastest I've had is 30Mbps download :) This was around 11:30 at night though, during peak times it's about 20Mbps.

Here is the speed test image :)

However, since I've had a fault on my mast, the highest I've had is about 27-28Mbps.

Testing out a new phone today and in a car park below Ben Wyvis where I didn't think I would have much of a signal as its 20 odd miles north of dingwall in the wilds..

over 18 down and 3 up. Pleasing.

That was an iPhone 5 running the last iOS 7 beta before the GM release. The mast is only at the end of the road so that helps!

Since they had the problem though I've not been able to go quite that fast.

Theres a fault and you still manage 27-28mbps, quit complaining, some people would be happy to get 5-10mbps :p lol

The fastest I've had on Three using iPhone 5 was back in June at 7.45am which was 29.36mbps down 2.48mbps up.
Lately though it's been anything between 10-20mbps down.

Interesting how out of all those high speeds I'm the only one who has seen an upload in 5MB speeds.

The other morning I hit 28Mbps down and just over 3Mbps up on Three.

I've found 3 upload speed to be not that great. For instance when I have 2-3 bars on vodafone I can get 3-4mbps upload, but when on that amount on 3 it's between 1-2 Mbps.

This is inline with the average upload speed on Virgin Media's fibre optic broadband. Three loads web pages faster than any other network on most of the recent Root Metrics tests (excluding 4G). Most apps download data, few upload, and even if they do 3Mbps is pretty good for upload.

Yeah so it does make sense but noticed 4G on EE seems to offer far better upload speeds.
