In my opinion Linkin parks version of Rolling in the deep is brilliant and just about better than the original

I also prefer nobody does it better by radio head to the Carly Simon version

It suited Madness so well and they made it more musically catchy.
How Soon Is Now - t.A.T.u
Probably get shouted at by fans of the Smiths for saying that. Just love how she sings the chorus with such gusto.
Prefer it to Albert Hammond's original
Without You - Nilsson
Prefer it to Badfinger's original but prefer Badfinger's version to Mariah Carey's
Jealous Guy - Roxy Music
Like it more than John Lennon's version
Streets Of London - Anti-Nowhere League
Never liked Ralph McTell's version at all
Love's Original version.
Also Bowie's version of 'Sorrow' over The Merseybeats' version or The McCoys original version.
"Ramblin' Man"-Allman Brothers
"They Call Me The Breeze"-Lynard Skynard
"Into The Mystic"-Van Morrison
"Don't You Think This Outlaw Bit Has Done Got Out Of Hand?"-Waylon Jennings
God bless you and him always!!!
Holly
P.S. The reason why James has covered this many songs is because they were done for different tribute albums and movie soundtracks.

That is totally subjective. Some considered a screaming wailing dismantling of a beautiful song.
Cool, that's your opinion. 50,000 downloads in 30 minutes disagree with you though..
I also think a few of the songs they performed on The X Factor surpassed the originals.
Not true.
The most covered songs of all time, I believe, are "Yesterday" (composers: John Lennon and Paul McCartney), "Unchained Melody" (composers: Alex North and Hy Zaret) and "Stardust" (composer: Hoagy Carmichael).
"Hallelujah" (composer: Leonard Cohen) doesn't even come close.
Jimi Hendrix - All Along The Watchtower (Dylan himself started performing it in Hendrix's arrangement.)
Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah (Alexandra Burke? F*** right off.)
Kate Bush - Rocket Man
My other covers I prefer to originals are (original artist in brackets):
Everything I Own - Ken Boothe (Bread)
You Don't Own Me - Dusty Springfield (Lesley Gore)
More Than A Woman - Tavares (Bee Gees)
Together We Are Beautiful - Fern Kinney (Ken Leray)
Blame It On The Boogie - Jacksons (Mick Jackson)
Girls Talk - Dave Edmunds (Elvis Costello)
Oh thank God for you! I was fearing I'd disagree with the whole thread until that point
I'd personally disagree with Rolling In The Deep, How Soon Is Now and Run (with the fire of a thousand suns!) but I'll agree with All Along The Watchtower - Hendrix's version is one of my favourite songs.
[Also: Inb4 someone says Birdy's cover of Skinny Love ]
Have you heard the version by Love Spit Love (its the theme to Charmed btw) it blows away both.
No bloomin way!
Just played this and thought it was the worse of the three versions. Oh well, we've all got different tastes.
Agree with Madness, disagree wholeheartedly with TATU. The original is one of my favourite Smiths songs.
Azealia Banks - Barely Legal (The Strokes cover)
Just curious but what about it makes you find it the worst? I personally think the production is easily the strongest of all three versions.
Santana - Black magic woman (Fleetwood mac)
Aretha franklin - Respect (Otis redding)
The Specials - A message to you Rudy (Dandy Livingstone)
Happy Mondays - Step On (John Kongos)
Club Noveau - Lean on me (Bill withers)
D'angelo - Cruisin' (Smokey robinson)
Run DMC feat Aerosmith - Walk this way (Aerosmith)
Beyonce - In da club (50 cent)
