      Is it running in any form of compatibility modes?

      Have you tried the reinstall info on the official site ?
      2.1 How to re-install MapleStory Europe
      First of all, before you uninstall/remove MapleStory Europe from your PC or laptop, please make sure you have placed the screenshots - created with the Scroll Lock button ingame - in a different folder than C:\Program Files\NEXON\MapleStory Europe or C:\Program Files\Ahn Lab.

      Once your screenshots are moved, the removal of MapleStory Europe can start. Proceed to the Control Panel through Start and search for "Programs and Features". Be patient while the computer is searching through the data for all installed applications. First, search for Europe MapleStory and click on the button "Uninstall". After the process has been completed, Europe MapleStory itself is now removed. Then search for Ahn Lab Online Security and follow the same steps as above.

      Now, open C:\Program Files\ and check if the folders "AhnLab" and "NEXON\Europe MapleStory" are still there. If so, please remove them.

      The next step is to remove registrey keys. Please make sure you're only deleting the keys mentioned below, as it might crash your computer. Type in "regedit" in the Search bar of your Start menu - when using Windows Vista or 7 - or in the Run window when using Windows XP. A new window will appear will all registrey keys. Search for the Registry folder below;
      - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wizet\ (when using 32bit)
      - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Wizet\ (when using 64bit)

      After this, search the registry for any mention of "MapleStory". If there are any left, remove those too.

      Remove the folder and its subkeys. Now MapleStory Europe is completely removed from your Personal Computer or laptop.

      I'd try the specific Vista inno and see if that makes a difference I guess.
      Not seen John or Meme since before Christmas actually.
