Where to have a nice lunch in Glasgow City Centre
In a few weeks time we are having a small civil ceremony (just 4 people), and wanted to have a really nice lunch in Glasgow City Centre or nearby, afterwards, however I am not from the area, and wanted any advice on where to eat somewhere which suits the occasion. So far I've either found some nice places that olny serve lunch until 2.30pm, or a host of places that do "lunch deals". We won't be eating until about 2.30pm, and really wanted somewhere a bit special. Any advice would be really appreciated.

There are lots of nice places in Glasgow, one of the nicest IMO is Rogano. It is slap bang in the centre and has a wonderful ambiance.
If you told them you are having a 'private celebration' then I'm sure they would do their best to accomodate you.
I am always reluctant to say 'wedding' as the price always goes up!

Otherwise I find this website very helpful -

Thanks, and for the advice also, will look into that.

I was looking more restaraunt than public house, but thanks anyway.
The Chip is amazing also, but more than a 5 minute ride.
OP if you are having your civil ceremony at say, Park Circus, then the Chip and the city centre places are equidistant. However if you are having it in the middle, then I would recommend Rogano.
Feel free to PM me the details, I have my civil partnership next month!
I said a £5 ride, not 5 mins! And if the OP is at Park Circus and not the city centre then it will be 5 mins, and if it's the city centre 10 mins...
Oops sorry! I misread!
And yes, I had said this already. Park Circus is indeed equidistant.
The Ubiquitos Chip was one I fancied, however the lunch menu is only until 2.30, although the Brasserie is open all day. The ceremony is at Park Circus, and I don't mind a journey to wherever we eat.
I also saw "Sisters" restaurant which looked nice, and the "Windows" restaurant, but again lunchtime only. With the ceremony at 1.30pm, we need somewhere open all day.
no worries.....and congratulations all!
Personally I would phone them and explain the situation. In my experience they are very accomodating and the food is out of this world!
Also the Brasserie menu is very good and I think that some of the seats overlook the main restaurant area so still have a great atmos, but def call them.

Has nice views of Kelvingrove and has had good reviews.
Burger Off!, I'm glad I'm not marrying you
I can get you a good discount if you do choose BK! I can highly recommend this place -

Have a fantastic day, and if you do chose to go to Guy's I can guarantee he will look after you extremely well
Hubby and I had 3 courses each, a glass of champagne when we got there, and a bottle of chardonnay, the bill was about £100 ish.
As the name suggests there is a lot of seafood on the menu, but there are other choices for diners who don't particularly like fish.
- I just nipped onto the website the now, they are open from noon till late 7 days a week, and it is definitely on Bath Street.
Well worth having a look at the menu on the web..........

:)
I've eaten in both, and the brasserie is still really nice - even if you can't get into the restaurant. I'd definitely choose the Chip.
p.s Congratulations!
I've only been twice but it's a nice place to go for lunch.
