Don't think the Season 4 trailer is on the set as it was only finalized a few weeks ago. A shame, but ultimately it's available to watch online if you want to look for it.
Not that it says in this set, but I read on TrekBBS that they're aiming for a July release for Season 4. It would seem that CBS-D are happy with the work done by Modern Video for the season 4 set, hence they're tightening up the release schedule to get back on-track. CBS want them all done and out by next year. Season 5 is supposed to be out at the backend of the year, October or November.
Also heard that just as BOBW has had a standalone release this time, Redemption is getting the same treatment when the Season 4 set is released.
Got the BOBW standalone BD at the same time. Of course the temptation now is to watch that first. Hell, I've still got half of season 2 to watch, but I'm still tempted to watch BOBW later!
BOBW standalone, judging from comments on the back of the case, is the edited-together 'movie' version. Obviously the version on the season set is going to be the episodic version, so everyone will be happy eventually.
To be expected when they post it late Saturday night I suppose.
If you paid for First Class delivery send them an e-mail and ask for your postage refunding, they've delivered things late to me quite a lot lately and to be fair to them they always refund the postage with no fuss.
Season 4 is up for pre-order on Amazon for £49.43 for anyone interested, Zavvi also has it for £69.99 so pre-ordering with Amazon while it's "cheap" might be advisable.

I'll wait till tomorrow just incase something else has happened to it.

£50.99 pre-order from Sainsbury's with free P&P. Given that they've managed to get my Season 3/BOBW sets to me on DOR, I'm going with them again I think.
For anyone that's not picked up the S1 and S2 sets yet, Sainsbury's have them both at £38 at the moment.
Amazon I've always found hit and miss with DOR, although to be fair, like mentioned above, I've never had any quibbles over refunded P&P charges if things haven't turned up on time.

yeah it says on the blurb "seamlessly edited together", I'll just pause it after Riker says "FIRE", go make a cup of tea, and pretend nine months has passed before hitting play again.
Love the box for the BOBW standalone, it's Picard's face, with a secondary layer of cardboard providing the Locutus implants. That description doesn't make it sound as good as it looks.

Seeing as it was already edited together for a standalone VHS release many moons ago it'll be interesting to see if it's the same version, or whether or not they've re-edited it.
Doesn't really matter to me TBH as I'll have both versions anyway, the standalone and the episodic!

Yeah, I like the box. It confused me to start with as I assumed that it was a fold-out box that revealed the disc inside. Instead it's a fold out addition to the cardboard sleeve, which itself includes a regular BD box, which houses the disc. The whole thing comes in a nice plastic sleeve.
Considering the set cost me about £5, the packaging is pretty impressive.
The original assets used to create the shows' CGI was presumed to have been lost, meaning that the FX on both shows would have to have been done from scratch. It now comes to light that these original assets actually still exist, meaning that remastering both DS9 and VOY has just gotten a lot easier for CBS-D.
Further, the assets were 'over-built' meaning that they should stand up very well in HD.
That's not GREAT news because it was looking likely those shows were going to be greenlit anyway and now we won't be getting any new CGI out of it, which is a bummer.
Especially when you get towards the fleet stuff in later series of DS9, some new ships and action would've been very justifiable
(Especially if they could add in the flippin' Enterprise in some shots to justify its complete absence from the war. It should've been at the forefront of the fleet at the start of Sacrifice of Angels at the very least...)
And some new footage instead of stock footage in the finale wouldn't have gone amiss either.
But oh well, it's still good news if it brings DS9 ever closer.
Voyager? Pass. If they do a single disc with the 10 or so episodes worth watching over the course of its run, I'd consider it.

Greenlit probably. New CGI unlikely. Had the original assets been lost then you'd have had an upscaling of the existing VFX like they did in the Trials & Tribble-ations episode on the TOS season 2 BD set. They wouldn't be going back to do all the CGI for the later seasons from scratch, it would take far too long, and cost far too much given that they'll be expecting to shift fewer copies of DS9 BDs than TNG and likely TOS.
This news however, removes the dreaded spectre of 'upscaling' and lets them continue to remaster the later shows in the same way that they've done TNG, which was off the table up until now.
Voyager - I very much doubt that I'll pick up, but good for its fans I guess.

STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION® – THE FOURTH SEASON
From the season premiere - the epic conclusion of the two-part cliffhanger “The Best Of Both Worlds” - to its thrilling finale “Redemption” Part 1, STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION – THE FOURTH SEASON is distinguished as one of the most favored amongst fans.
In addition to all-new commentary tracks on select episodes with some of the franchise’s biggest names including writers Ronald D. STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION – THE FOURTH SEASON BLU-RAY features all 26 episodes of the fourth season, brilliantly remastered into stunning high-definition that continues to be hailed by critics including High-Def Digest, who called the third season Blu-ray release “an amazing, fan-pleasing product.”
STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION – REDEMPTION
STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION – REDEMPTION BLU-RAY, also featuring Ultraviolet download or stream, is a seamlessly edited, feature-length presentation of the classic two-part episode that served as the season four finale and season five premiere. Penned by acclaimed sci-fi screenwriter Ronald D. Moore (Battlestar Galactica), the thrilling episode follows Captain Picard (Patrick Stewart) and Lieutenant Worf (Michael Dorn) as they fight to end a Klingon civil war.
Along with an extensive audio commentary from Moore and scenic artists/Star Trek consultants Mike and Denise Okuda, STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION – REDEMPTION BLU-RAY includes the exclusive documentary, “Survive and Succeed:
An Empire at War.” This newly produced special feature explores the Klingon mythology of Star Trek: The Next Generation and features all-new interviews with writer/producer Moore, who, in addition to “Redemption,” wrote some of the franchise’s most memorable Klingon storylines, and some of the actors who played the most renowned Klingon characters including Michael Dorn (Worf), Robert O’Reilly (Gowron) and Gwynyth Walsh (B’Etor).

Does anyone else feel they're putting these out a bit quick? What's the rush? There should be 6 months between each season release.
As long as the quality doesn't suffer then no, I don't feel it's to quick. And, you don't need to buy them on release date. If you want a six month window then you buy them every six months.
The plan's always been to get the whole series out by the middle of 2014. The length between seasons 1 and 2 slipped to 5 months because they had the whole audio correction/re-release issue with the season 1 set. It was about 4 months between seasons 2 and 3, and it's 3 months between 3 and 4, hence they're just getting back on track.
Doesn't surprise me that they're able to speed things up tbh, they're more comfortable with the remastering process now than they were when they started. Plus they don't necessarily need to continue remastering any stock-shots, once they're done for earlier seasons then they can just be re-used again later on. We'll get season 5 in November, and then the remaining sets in the new year.
On a disappointing note, it appears that the Redemption standalone won't be released in the UK. Germany may get it but that's unclear at the moment. On the bright side Star Trek BDs to date have been region-free, and the standalone will at least be priced below the threshold for import duties/VAT. Still, disappointing though.
I was only planning on getting seasons 3 & 4 of Enterprise. There's probably only around half dozen episodes that I liked in season 2, but at that price, I'll bite.
