Regarding Asia

Microsoft Plots 2014 Launch for Xbox One in Asia
Asia

Asian gamers will have to wait a year longer than their American counterparts to get their hands on Microsoft’s Xbox One, which will only be available in the region in late 2014, a year after its U.S. launch this November.
The new device will only be available in select Asian markets – Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea and India

Really cant think of a worse launch for a new console ever Also no mention of Japan or China which is strange

The used game market is huge in Asia so this doesn't surprise me.

To be honest the Xbox has only sold well in the USA and UK with small fan bases in rich EU countries like France and Germany. Every other territory has the Sony or Nintendo brand behind it.

So this launch does make sense, if a little limiting. But i really don't see Xbox growing so quickly into other territories, purely because the sales they get will be nothing compared to the USA and UK and bits of mainland europe which is where their current install base is and where the best internet connections are (excl asia who don't buy Xbox)

That is hilarious. Especially the waving your right to join a class action.

Do they really think people will sell soul just to pay Halo?

oh dear, they are not thinking about Japan, are they?

But they've got Japanese publishers on board at least for now. But they won't have a fuller line-up of Japanese titles.

It's kind of funny one of the games showcased in the MS conference was The Witcher 3 developed by a Polish company and they won't be able to play their own game in their own country on the Xbox One.

But they will... it will just be a staggered launch. X1 is supporting these regions, just not all at the same time. Let's wait and see how Sony deal with demand and how they roll out the PS4 because I think there's going to be some major supply/demand issues there and Europe will likely play second fiddle as usual.

There definitely will be some supply and demand issues. MS will have plenty of supply but little demand :D

Like it or not, currently the Xbox one has more exclusives lined up than the PS4.

More exclusives were shown at E3 by MS but Sony have twice as many exclusives currently in production for the PS4 from 1st party studios than MS do for the X1.

Sorry how is this an issue?

Like any electronic device launch companies only start selling in certain countries to begin with, they never do a worldwide launch. No different here.

It is different as the XBone won't work in countries not listed. You'd be buying a dud. So yeah, it's totally different.

How about the fact that Poland puts out a fair few video games for consoles, so they should be a country with support from day one. Some of the countries from day one don't even do anything for the consoles, yet the ones that do are left out. It's a bit of a kick in the teeth as they may feel they are being overlooked even with all they do.

How about normally most of Europe including the UK doesn't get consoles on day one? This is no different.

It's normally Japan, then the US then Europe for the likes of Sony. Just seems this time round they're trying to cover more countries from day one but it means some will be left out. No doubt a few months later the likes of Poland will get it.

Just seems to me people are trying to pick faults that aren't there with the Xbox for the sake of slagging it off.
