For those interested ITV are starting a two part documentary looking at "dangerous" dogs and dog attacks. It's tonight at 9 on itv

As a massive dog lover I will be watching this. I do hope they actually look at the information and stats accurately and not go for sensational misrepresentation and focus on the owners and circumstances rather then the breed

I know I will be ranting at some point as they will have to show some of the idiot owners who allowed their dogs to bite someone

I will always say it is the owner not the dog.

Well so far I have not seen a nasty dog yet. I have seen scared and neglected dogs and even the one that bit was only scared and more likely was aiming for the lead.
The Akita I'm not sure on but he could just be from lack of socialising that he's protecting the only home he knows and with strangers trying to coming in

Can't believe how unprofessional the RSPCA officer trying to restraint the white dog locked in the house is.

If it was an aggressive animal in a zoo, safari park or in the wild they would sedate them to move them. Why can't they do this in this instance ? It would be much easier to move them and less stressful for the dog.
I'm not a dog lover at all but the state of these poor dogs is horrific!

These two women are totally unprofessional.

It's as if they have had precisely zero training. No forethought, no planning - just ask the onlookers if they have any food or water.

I'm sure all the screaming and shouting isn't helping at all...

A lousy written warning? This is why people are so easy to neglect their pets. No true criminal convictions against them. If that dog had been a child...

I would totally support tougher sentences for animal cruelty & neglect.

They are Council dog wardens not RSPCA I think they said earlier.

If those staffies get out down it's the owners fault for not containing them properly

They should bring back the dog licence and mandatory vet insurance, keep some of these disgusting people from getting pets and leaving them like this.

He should be fined heavily for threats and have a lifetime ban of owning animals
