The 500GB box is split, with 250GB for personal use, and the other 250GB reserved for use by Sky Anytime. In terms of how many hours of content can be recorded with the 250GB for personal use, it's not an exact science, as the broadcast quality of one channel can be different to another, and thus the space used on the box will vary. However, as a ballpark figure, the 500GB box will record around 60 hours of HD content, or around 185 hours of SD content, or a combination of the two.

    Thanks for the reply

Is the 500gb the only model they give out now? Apart from the 1tb box?

I didn't realize they kept so much for anytime, seems way too much, i bet they're wasting over half that at any given time considering how many movies and shows are on offer.

I dont think Sky would consider it a waste they are a business and want you to sign up for more packages hence the carrot dangle that is Anytime.

What gets me is that 250GB is allocated to Anytime even if you have Anytime disabled.
