The programme FAQ still says the following:
    Will the live feed return?

Although we realise this will disappoint some fans of the show, we have decided to continue to focus on the nightly highlights show and on directly engaging with viewers through social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter and specially created iPhone, iPad and Android apps.

    http://about.channel5.com/faqs/programmes-a-to-e

Hopefully that will change and they might try to win back those million viewers they lost.

a suggestion that has been floated on this forum before is that maybe a massive increase in traffic on this website will have a knock on effect and increase the ratings significantly
i don't buy into that idea though

Hmm. This site used to grind to a halt during peak periods during (I think) bb11. (Some fairly recent series anyway.) That was despite improvements in the servers and software that had been made over the years, and the reason (we were told) was that so many more people were using the site.

That and other things make it seem use of this site has grown while audience numbers fell, which at least suggests a limit on how much increased traffic here would help.

Also, consider bb9. Most people here thought it was a big improvement over bb8 -- 'word of mouth' here and elsewhere should have been good -- but it still had fewer viewers.

There is an argument that a live feed would create buzz. Sometimes people point to bb11 as evidence, since it had more viewers than bb10 (and bb10 had only limited live coverage). But it didn't have as many viewers even as bb9 (which had 24/7 live coverage). So again the power of 'buzz' seemed pretty limited.

Ah, but how many were lost because of the loss of live BB and how many because it moved to C5 or for other reasons?

(We've often been told in the ratings threads that fewer viewers should be expected just because it's on C5.)

with only a month to go until launch
C5 should be putting a lot of effort into BB now
an announcement of some decent livefeed would help right now

but as time goes on and with confusing/conflicting reports coming out,i feel that it will be the same old 'smaller' BB on C5

doesnt look like this thread will be closing anytime soon
only 2 hours a night of livefeed is not good enough
but it is a big improvement from nothing i guess
very small steps in the right direction and a big climb down fro C5
considering they said it wasnt needed at all

So, we'll have a live feed on 5* between 7-9pm.
Certainly better than nothing I suppose, although I would have preferred LF at a later time.

Dont care how many spin off shows they have increased
its the house action that makes BB
Mr Ford was too keen for a Towie clone but Mr Frow does appear to be bringing some
    sort of BB back.
he has done some sweeping but he hasnt removed all the dust just yet.

I will take a look at what Mr Frow and C5 are going to call BB.

Jesus, some of you are NEVER happy are you? 7 - 9 is obviously the best time, the highlight show airs at either 9 or 10pm then there's BBBOTS afterwards, do you really want 2 hours of live stream between 12 - 2am? That'd be VERY interesting wouldn't it? And as for afternoon streaming, that would be cut to ribbons.

Afternoon or evening its going to get cut to ribbons that seems the one flaw in this.

A little bit more time to get to know the not rights, we have don't have to pay for it either which is a bonus :)

Infinitely better than when we had nothing at all when BB12 was on and we had to rely on their highly selective Tweets to get through every day

Now it's just a matter of waiting to see who they put in there, as good cast = good series

Can see why they have put it on at this time, so it doesn't clash with the highlights and S** on the Side but there is a clash with the soaps which hopefully won't do too much damage

So let's just hope they are actually doing something when the feed comes on and that BTS haven't tipped them off they will be live on 5*

And don't forget there will be so much more WHATM to play with so another added bonus there

and for the other 22 hours a day its back to following their highly selective tweets again.

an improvement but much more is needed

if this was day one of big brother on channel 5 then i'd give them some lee-way
but they've had 2 years to come up with this masterplan of seismic proportions which apparently is gonna shake the tv world to it's foundations

sorry to disappoint you but i dont see this thread closing anytime soon
2 hours a day really wont be enough for many
not even anything on launch night either
C5 still have a long way to go before they can call this show BB again.

Don't watch it then. There's more chance of the second coming of Christ than a 24/7 feed.

Im not expecting 24/7 livefeed but 2 hours a day wont be enough for many.
5* was/is the perfect station for live feed but it needs to be much more than 2 hours
as for not watching,i haven't watched so far on C5 but i will take a look at what they have done etc.

You say 5* is the perfect channel but what about the programmes on there now..are you sugesting the people who currently watch 5* programming should lose their shows to appease a small group of fans who want to watch live feed all day?
Tell me what the alternatives are so you keep everyone happy.
14 hours a week is a ridiculous percentage rise to what you had last year.
had they put 3/4 hours on in afternoon and nothing in the night people would be complaining they dont get to see live feed because of work or other daytime commitments.
Remember that 5* is used to timeshift big shows like walking dead, neighbours, home and away, malcolm in the middle, and the mornings are locked into a teleshopping contract.

How would 2 hours from 7-9PM for 10-14 weeks (including CBB possibly?) not be enough? I mean, come on. You are only saying this because you want 24/7 which is not realistic as you know that isn't going to happen.

14 hours a week of Live Feed is huge news. Why is that not good enough? And this isn't online feed, it is a feed on a TV channel.

I mean, I am surprised you would say that to be honest.

I dont expect 24/7 live feed but i do expect to watch BB
I think many would have hoped for around 6 hours a day at different times
a set time for livefeed could leave it open for the housemates to 'act' up or even be informed by the producers that they are going 'live'.
i have said that it is a huge climb down for C5 and a a realisation that they may have been wrong in the direction they were taking BB.
Mr Frow has done some sweeping but he still has some dust to clear up.

Like many people, we would have watched more than 2 hours livefeed a day but it is an improvement i guess.

Launch night is a prime example of many people wanting to watch live feed to see how they are settling in etc.

    12:10: Usual
    00:00: BB Live
    01:00: Supercasino

    Five Star:

    13:00: Soap Repeats
    14:00: Big Brother Live
15:00: C5 catchup and Gilmore Girls
    16:00: Big Brother catch up
    17:00: C5 catchup
    18:00: Usual soaps
