A new F-Zero, Starfox, proper Pokemon game (not snap or Arena), 1080, Waverace...would be great
Toying with the idea of popping to Asda this bank holiday to pick up a Wii U. It's a good price now, and the promise of new games from Nintendo tickles the sad fan in me.
To be fair, most entries to the Mario franchise are a lot more different to each other than the Call of Duty games which are churned out every year without fail.
I personally cannot wait for the Mario Kart. I was totally hopeless at Mario Kart Wii because I never learnt how to use a bike, and none of my friends play Mario Kart 7 any more because they think it's boring so I'm really hoping MKWiiU is the best yet.
The Mario Kart series is my favourite game series without a doubt.
So they can't deviate from being an FPS. Nintendo can do whatever the hell they like with Mario because it is just a character that can go into any genre.
Oh and please. As if Mario Kart is any different to COD in its iterations. Same old, same old every game.
its mario kart, you drive around colourful cute tracks dropping banana skins behind you, what more can they do with it, some new weapons and tracks, thats about it...
Now that I would want:eek:
It would work so well too. Have it truly open world but that certain areas have higher level pokemon so you'd just get wiped out straight away. Random encounters can be a mix of Final Fantasy XII so you can see the Pokemon in the world and also have random ones like it has now. Also a battle breaks and the camera can zoom out and to the side a bit like how WOW has their version of Pokemon. Forests could be huge so it could take ages to get through the likes of Viridian Forest like in the anime. It also should be that all pokemon are available on the game but the odds of them beingon your save are rolled at the beginning of a game so some are rarer than they are for others on their games so you are still encouraged to trade. They'd have to rethink the experience system though.
You can tell I've really thought about this lol
Yeah I'd like to see a "proper" Pokemon RPG, that would be cool.
Nintendo do make Mario games into a lot of different genres.
And I'm not complaining about CoD as such, I actually really enjoy it. I'm just pointing out that it's illogical to complain that Nintendo are so "samey" and uninventive when there are other games such as CoD which produce something similar year on year.
While the Mario Kart franchise doesn't change much, you are ignoring the other games Mario is in: The side scrolling platformers, the 3D Galaxy types, karting, tennis, baseball, football, olympic games, Donkey Kong, the paper Mario RPGs, the Mario and Luigi RPGs and many more.
.
So to summarise, your argument doesn't make any sense when you consider the amount of different games Mario is in. Yes, he's in no killing games, but I'm a firm believer that you don't need to kill virtual people to enjoy a game.
Obviously you aren't a fan of the Mario Kart series (you're even coming across as a bit hostile towards those who are), but I enjoy the franchise because the games, just like CoD, have their own thriving online community. Just look at Mario Kart Wii which was released in 2008- at any one time there are tens of thousands of people online racing each other. And it's not just driving around "cute" tracks; there is immense skill involved. You need to know each course inside-out, you need to have lightning fast reactions and the margin of error is very small- one small mistake and you lose, and you need to know how to use your items effectively.
Yeah..but Bethesda would never make a Pokemon game ..they won't even farm out half assed ports of games to Nintendo platforms let alone make an original game with a top dev team.
Best chance of a big Pokemon game on a home console is if Nintendo could get Capcom to make a Pokemon x Monster Hunter crossover (that at least has a chance of happening).
Yep very true and it is a real shame because not only will the game be amazing (I think so anyway and if done right) but they'll make so much more money so its a win win in my opinion. However I think that I read a while ago that the people at Gamefreak won't make a normal Pokemon game on a home console because the CEO of Gamefreak loves the idea that Pokemon is handheld and that it is like its real with the Pokemon being carried round inyour pocket and you could stop and battle someone in the street if you wanted so unfortunately doesn't ever seem likely... but I can always dream
You are the one who said Mario games are all different unlike COD and then picked Mario Kart, a game that hadn't changed since it's inception, as your case in point.
And neither did I say I want Mario in an FPS. Everything you just said was pure fantasy.
