Had a pretty frustrating day trying to finalise a copy from HDD to disc - kept getting a message about cancelling external link from AV2. WTF is all that about? Result: did not have an option to finalise disc when pressing 'other' on menu. Disconnected everything but for HDMI lead to TV to no avail. Apologies if I am being thick/have not explained things well but does anyone have an answer?!

turn it off . you will still be able to finalise your disc at any time .
Ext link was only ever used to record from for example separate tune boxes many moons ago and to be frank its virtually never used but Pana keeps putting it on perhaps for other countries that might have a need for it !!
