We're going to have our office Christmas do in a couple of weeks, & some of us of a certain age have decided to reminisce on the alcoholic drinks from our youth that our parents never allowed us to have except on special occasions. So far we've got Advocaat, Dubonnet, Babycham, Campari & Cinzano Bianco. If you can think of any others from the 70s & 80s, please can you let me know. Thanks. :)

Mix advocaat with lemonade to get a snowball. My aunty used to drink that in the 70's.

I was too young (officially) to drink during the 70's, but I vaguely remember my mum drinking a bottled drink called Pony.

I also remember Blue Nun being in the cupboard and the Party 7 cans that everyone used to take to parties and have in for Christmas.

I think Cherry B was around back then too, or was that 80's?

Edit: I just noticed you want all of these drink suggestions for a 70's themed party, so I guess my post is obsolete, as I doubt any of these drinks are available today. :o

I enjoyed the trip down memory lane though. :D

I think both were more 80s in fairness

    Oh yes,I forgot about cider.

I definatly believed that if I flicked my ciggie ash down the neck of the bottle,it would get me drunk much quicker, well I was a teenager at the time!! :D

Thanks for all the suggestions - we're going to get absolutely rat-arsed on them, but please keep them coming. 5 of the women are staying round at mine afterwards - I'm not putting my new carpets down until after they've gone: I'm not daft. :D

When I was a lad in the 80s, Tennants Extra was the lager of choice, but only if you were dressed in a Lyle & Scott jumper and Farah slacks, had a wedge haircut, highlights and an RS2000 in the car park..........

And for our Scottish viewers let us not forget cans of Tennents Lager. A classy combination of scantidly clad ladies on the side of the can combined with the delicate taste similar to that of fizzy urine.
