Someone in The Daleks' Master Plan?

    No, not that one. :)

    Someone from The Ark?

    :)

    Another great story, but no.

Right, I'll take the even stories and you take the odds. ;)

I'll take another guess and say The Savages!

Ooh! Two more wrong guesses, I'm afraid.

    EDIT

Actually, I had a nagging doubt I'd forgotten about something and checked. CoalHillJanitor was sort of correct with an earlier guess, but I won't allow it for a reason that will become obvious.

Yes indeed, it was Perkins. Well done, and the sausage is passed to you.

"You've not spent all your life at books, Doctor."

Hm. I can't recall this one, or anywhere close.
I was going to have a go at "The Mind Robber", but I'm troubled by the term "at books". Surely in the early DWs the English was much more precise, rather than some faux attempt at renaissance syntax which was much more late 70s.

So, I'm going to hazard a guess at a 4th Doctor story.

Is it Masque of Mandragora? Seem to remember it after a swordfight or something.

TRT1968 was getting very close with the reference to "renaissance syntax", but it's jrmswfc who came in with the right answer. The quote was from Guiliano in 'The Masque of Mandragora' after the Doctor impressed him with his swordplay.

    Over to you...

I'd say it was the Doctor, but I'm not sure which one or what Story it's from.

my quote: "Come on Father. You'll be needed to put everything together again."

    Good luck at guessing. :D

assuming Tiggerpooh is right, Id say ten in Voyage of the Damned.

Not right, I'm afraid. Have another go. Read it again, then see.

The Keeper of Traken, that woman (Nissa?) said it near the end

Seeing as my go was basically hijacked with a lazy "it was the Doctor", I'll put it up again for somebody to have a proper go at it.

    "I'm having a whale of a time".

Awww, it originally read something like "I demand you take me to..." something...

    I look silly now :o

jrmswfc -- that's a hard one alright. I'm thinking classic series. Did the monk ever say that?
