I'm sure the water isn't clean so Dara's cuts are going to need looking after.
It was a useful thing for Chelsee to do to have no breakfast after a very early start and then do the long walk to school so she knows how some of the kids will feel. Compared to some of the other things Chelsee has done, I think this will mean a lot by the time she has finished. Having gone there to do take on the Challenge - in a similar way to Strictly - the things that test you (if you complete them), will make you stronger.
I see Chelsee has so much hair that her helmet is on all wrong - too far to the back of her head and too loose. If she fell into a rapid, it could pull off her head and choke her.
They did do a tougher rapid on a bigger raft and we haven't heard of anyone ending up in the river so they must be nearing the end of the challenge now.
I think I heard Lorraine say that they had already raised a lot of money - which will make them all happy if that's correct.

Those cuts could easily get infected on Dara's legs, so think the medical staff would keep a close eye on him. The water is probably teeming with bacteria etc. So the locals having to bathe in it and drink the water, can't do them any good at all.
Sounds really ardous in the bigger raft and it is really dragging for them now. They must be on the last leg of the journey surely.
Good observation about Chello's helmet being wrongly placed. Looking at the others, they have loose straps too. Probably because of the heat and sweat combined with the strap chaffing their skin, so they are perhaps thinking more of their comfort rather than their own safety.
Thanks for posting all the links over the last few days everyone :)its been great to have so much chelsee related stuff to follow:D:D day 5 tomorrow? And chelsee seems to be holding her own so far. Good for her;) She always appears to be at her best when she's testing herself to the limit. Those hippos and crocs would freak me out no end:eek::D

Huw Stephens show from yesterday, his shows haven't really been up very quickly, like the others, so I'm a bit behind with posting them. 1.11 on the slider.
So tomorrow is the last day. Some more rapids to shoot and then hope you are not all scattered over the river drifting toward the Victoria Falls while they try to get you all back into a boat before something else gets to you or you get to the Falls.
Thanks Karma, you have excelled yourself, again Beautiful pic of Victoria Falls with the rainbow. Such a beautiful landscape, apart from the Hippos and crocs and mosquitos and bugs and heat etc

Awww thanks sunshine, as have you, we like to keep the thread going and it is nice to have such a wealth of goodies all Chelsee related.:)
Yes the Victoria Falls are beautiful. There is some YT footage of them in the links, love the rainbow too.
Emma confused me for a minute when she said they were at the Livingstone Falls, aren't they in the Congo??? They are in Livingstone, Zambia at the Victoria Falls aren't they? I had to go and check after she said Livingstone Falls? Just wikkied it -
Victoria Falls (or Mosi-oa-Tunya (Tokaleya Tonga: the Smoke that Thunders) is a waterfall in southern Africa on the Zambezi River at the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Thanks for all the links Karma.
Livingstone named the Victoria Falls, and becuase they are so wide, they may have named a section of them the Livingstone Falls, in the same way Niagra Falls has different names for different sections.
You can see the water churning at the bottom of 'The Ladders of Doom'. It looks fairly easy to paddle over that in the raft, but if you had fallen into the river above that, the water there could suck you under. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8xSi25pBfc
You can imagine in that gorge, you cant get rescuers from the sides of the river, so they have to come from behind them on the river. If they miss them on the first pass down they probably cant get back to them unless they pull over to the side and wait until they have floated past and then have another go.
They may have a powerful jet boat which could go upriver, but I haven't seen any sign of one.
A hotel room will never have looked as sweet as the next one they walk into.
[QUOTE=fatskia;63992871]Thanks for all the links Karma.

Ha ha Greg in the buff, they must have reached an extra £50,000 or £100,000, if he goes down the rapids. I await with baited breath. What a good sport after all he has been through, mind it will probably be the cleanest he has been all week:D:D:D For those easily offended don't click on the link:D:D:o
I see there that 3 of Chelsee's nails survived on her left hand and another one is all taped up on her right. The upper false eyelashes made it through. She should have got sponsored before it by the nail and eyelash companies.
I'm not surprised that Chelsee was crying after hearing her mum and neice - I'm sure they are so proud and will love hearing about it all when she gets back. Of everyone there, Chelsee must be the furthest from her comfort zone but she has just taken it as it comes and showed what she is made of.
I'm sure Phillips will forever remember what his children sounded like when he heard them over the radio. The kids sounded like they are really enjoying seeing and hearing what Phillips has done.
Good on Greg for raising another £50,000 at least and doing a bit of crocodile-baiting.
So the tough bits are over and they can transition back into the world of some comfort, although the being scratched, cut, burnt, brused, tired, bitten and lack of sleep will take a day or two to recede. Someone also has a sprained ankle and it may be Chelsee. Mel mentioned it as they decended the Ladder of Doom?
I've seen £400,000 mentioned so far, and there will be more interviews, and appeals before the film of it airs (probably on Red Nose Day), so there is every chance the £1,000,000 will be passed.
Well done to Chelsee. I didn't know how well she would cope, but she did brilliantly and did it her way. I would think Chelsee and Mel will always have a bond from this and the whole team were magnificent. They looked like a motley but interesting crew and I think the chemistry worked. Job done and done well.

You have summed it up well skia. Think they are battered, bruised and bitten, but still standing and stronger for the experience. Seems Greg's naked challenge got people texting and upped the money considerably:D Haven't seen any pics of him coming back out the river yet, so hope the crocs didn't feast on him;)
They do seem to have been a motley crew indeed and as Dara said, he and Chelsee's worlds would never have collided under normal circumstances. They have been squabbling like 8 year olds, according to Greg, but it is understandable, when they are so drained and fatigued. Sure they had a lot of laughs along the way too, mixed in with hair raising times, but hopefully they will remember this trip for a long time to come. They should be proud of their achievment and I too thought Chelsee would struggle, but she is tenacious and has hopefully won a few more people over in the process.

Thanks for the clarification skia and the links.
Blimey that helicopter came in low, bad enough navigating the rapids and then the down-draught from the chopper too. It looks very hairy now.
Yes the luxury of a shower and a comfy bed is beckoning I am sure.
Chelsee has kept them amused apparently, while trying to keep up her standards of glamour.
