I am currently wanting and needing new music......
Strangely, I have started to discover new acts/artists and some from last year that I hadn't encountered ..... But I have also started to rediscover golden oldies too....
So I am currently listening to:
New:
Tom Odell (Coldplay/mumfords/patrick/Damien rice)
Haim
Laura Mvula
Unheard of: but now listening to:
Katrina Train - what a voice! The British Norah Jones! Great album.
Golden Oldies/Re-appreciation:
David Bowie
Dido
Abba - Ring Ring album
Lianne La Havas - still don't understand how this talent isn't as big if not bigger than Emeli Sande. Amazing vocal talent. Great songwriting. Fantastic solid debut album.

Dido is the only confirmed album I'm really excited about hearing. The Pretty Reckless & Avril Lavigne also have releases that I'm interested in.

Imagine Dragons
Milo Greene

Jody Brock

Albums:
Halcyon - Ellie Goulding
still adoring Kristina Train ...... such an amazing jazz vocalist.... smokey and smooth..... But i have also come across Hannah Boleyn....and Frida Sundemo is electornic bliss too!
I like what I've heard of AlunaGeorge and Chvrches as well, although it isn't my kind of music at all.
http://joharman.com/ is her website....definitely one of THE best voices you will here, right up there with Adele etc...she also has one of the most talented backing bands on the circuit. AND she is a really nice person and gave me a name check from the stage when I saw her last!
Tom Odell
And the Tillman brothers:
Father John Misty
Pearly Gate Music
Twenty One Pilots
Jessie Ware - Devotion. When I first heard of her, I couldn't quite get into her songs, but then a week or so ago, I decided to really listen to the album, and there really are some pearls, Taking In Water is one of the best songs I've ever heard.
Mackemore / Ryan Lewis - Thrift Shop. An awesome song. Or should I say "F*ckin' awesome" song!
Neon Hitch - Happy Neon. The free EP she released, it really has some good songs, and the production is great. Pink Fields is my favorite, the chorus is amazing.
Best Coast
Sambassadeur
Haim
Father John Misty
The 1975
King Charles
Local Natives
I swear I've listened to What's The Matter nearly every other day for the past couple months.
As far as recent discoveries. I love Neon Indian.
I completely agree! And I've just found out what it's about...
‘Taking Water’ has become really important because it’s very personal – it’s about my little brother. It wasn’t going to be on my album. I wrote it very early on and it got forgotten about and then it felt like a really important song to me with the storytelling in it and I couldn’t let it go so we added it later on, but I’m happy it made the album because I feel like it’s an important part of it.”
I'm so glad she put it on the album.
