    I've been using Spywareblaster for years but it has such long gaps between updates I wouldn't be relying on it.

    It's great as extra protection for your browsers as it takes up zero resources :)

    Just out of interest, what does it do that Malwarebytes does not, or are they totally different beasties?

    Totally different, SWB offers Script, Cookie and restricted site protection, it does this by using the browsers built-in features when you do an update within SWB is gets a list of things to protect then updates the browser<s> you want protecting.
