Tony Soprano himself has died, with heart attack suspected as the cause. He was only 51. To anybody who loves The Sopranos, this is just incredibly sad.

Very sad to hear this. I don't think his performance as Tony Soprano will ever be bettered. Magnificent actor.

Yeah it's dreadfully sad & 51 is no age, think his daughter was only born last year too.

Terrible news. Such an immense talent that provided easily some of the strongest performances ever seen on a television show.

On a side-note: I was literally in the middle of watching The Sopranos when I heard the news of his death. I'm in the middle of re-watching the entire show and it's going to be strange to witness his exceptional work from this point on when I know he's not around anymore.

I'm 39 so 51 is just up the road.

The traditional Italian diet is so healthy, people over there usually live longer, but in I would assume that his particular lifestyle and his weight played a big role, plus I always got the impression that he was tightly wound...perhaps a little like his screen character Tony Soprano in some respects.

Its very sad that such a talented man has his life cut short and terribly sad for his children.

    Rip James.

This is so sad. His youngest daughter is only 8 months old and will grow up without a father. My thoughts are with his wife and children. So young too. R.I.P
