I don't know if you realise how insensitive you sound in this comment?
Have to admit, I did a double-take at that comment too. While I made an observation of my own about an unusual number of people falling ill at the moment, I hope it comes across with much more decency than zx50's comment, which sounds really awful even if that wasn't the intention.
Sad news. Is it me or is there an unusual number of people falling ill or dying before their time lately?
I was thinking the same! There seems to be far more cancer around thesedays, with many dying quickly and at a young age. Why? What are we eating? Or breathing?
What is the cancer research doing? Should we be questioning instead of pouring money into cancer research
I like her. She was very honest in her autobiography and she has lead a very colourful life. She was a heavy smoker and drinker which is often a fatal combination.

Smoking I know is bad for you, but I think people have to stop blaming it for all ills as they have done for years , smoking has been on the decline for years but cancer is on the up, for that I think we can thank the likes of diesel fumes and also it would appear many household chemicals which are used in abundance these days .

She has admitted to smoking 60 a day. Her sister died of lung cancer too. From what I understand if you smoke and drink heavily it makes it even worse.
You don't "catch" cancer you develop it. I don't know if you realise how insensitive you sound in this comment?
Too much sensitivity goes on in these types of threads. Obviously I know you can't actually catch cancer, it was just something that popped into my head when making that post.

wishing linda all the bestxx
Loved her in All Creatures Great and Small.
Does seem to be a bit of a dicey age category when folk hit their 50s and 60s.
Hopefully Lynda has caught this early and can now get on with her treatment swiftly.
I'm worrying about my mum more the closer she gets to her 60s, for sure.
I hope Lynda will come through this. Terrible situation for anyone to have to go through.
How very tactful, you sound.
Lost my Dad to cancer at the age of 46 when I was 17, or whatever.
Get well soon, Lynda.
All the best Lynda.

Scaremongering a bit? Anyone can get it at any age.

I lost a family member to cancer over a decade ago.
