oh that's hard lol ive been lucky this year as been to see 3 huge names: Beyoncé in February, Robbie Williams in June and Lady Gaga in October.

I would have to say the best was Lady Gaga just because for like 4 years I had been absolutely desperate to see her and was beside myself when I got tickets

Kate Bush, Eventim Apollo, London. Don't need to ever go to a gig again cos nothing will surpass that!

The Seekers at the Sage. It was so emotional seeing Judith on stage with the boys so protective of her. And it was an excellent show too.

The Killers at V Festival. I'd always been quite 'meh' about them but they TOTALLY won me over and well, killed it.

prince at ronnie scotts jazz club was one of the best gigs of my life. only 150 people there and a one off set list. front row, no elevated stage, so it was like being in the backroom of a pub with prince as the function band

close to that was prince at kings place doing a last minute secret accoustic set, again with a one off set list and this time in the VIP section, and the secret gig at cafe de paris was great too, one of a dozen people making the front row. it was pretty much tracks following a similar style of set list to the arena shows, but at arms length with only 400 people there and being able to see his eyes through his sunglasses

    kate bush was interesting too

Clean Bandit were fantastic when I saw them a couple of months ago. Really surprised me at what a brilliant set they did.

Dolly Parton was fab at Glasto too.

its lovely to hear so much KB love.... i really liked her album and sound this year ... i felt it was kinda overlooked....

other great live performances i encountered were:
suzanne vega - such an artistic return to form
laura mvula - best support act i have seen since lady gaga supporting take that

for me amazing gigs are divided by:

    a) the singalong personable connection
    b) the awe and power of the vocal and/or special golden dust i can't describe ... you just see and feel ...the persona ... the artistry
    c) the music that just takes you from the start to the end like some kind of love boat ... artistic visual and visceral feelings

few artists have delivered for me have delivered on all 3 levels ...Kate Bush this year did.
