Could someone please suggest a tablet for me?
I am not being lazy I promise, but I would like to buy or order one this weekend and the more I research them online the more confuddled I am getting
All I want it for is to use the internet via wifi, not mobile [can't afford that as well] and also to take photos and possibly video but only fun stuff, not anything remotely important. If I could also download games like Candy Crush etc that would be a bonus.
Budget, as little as possible but can go to around £250
Thanks in advance for any advice

Not being lazy but some good choices here within your budget ;-)
If you want to make sure that you have access to the widest range of games, then make sure any of the Android tablets you look at have Google Play pre-installed.
Just one more thing - would anybody / everybody bother with a higher spec refurb or lower spec brand new?
It depends on whether you want a 7", 8" or 10" device, but I would recommend getting this, it's high spec and a good price.
I'd always go for the higher spec refurb over a new one.
Try before you buy is the key here. Any tablet will be cool on its own but its when you compare one to the next that you get a real feel for whats out there. I personally cant see past the ipad but that is purely a personal choice, there is no right or wrong here. A cheap tablet may do everything you need and you will be chuffed with it in which case save you cash and get one.
I would be wary of a Second hand Ipad , I have 2 ipod touches with batteries that don't hold their charges more than a couple of hours any more and replacement of batteries isn't really cost effective in my opinion which makes them pretty paperweights .
refurbished Ipads from Apple have new batteries fitted as standard
I am sure you have been waiting all day, biting your nails, waiting to know what I finally decided
I'm afraid I went all predictable and got an iPad mini. I haven't had much time to explore it properly but so far so good.
Thanks to all who kindly helped.
Sam
Yet on questioning the salesperson(trying hard for a sale) insisted the camera was 5 megapixels.
I am looking to buy a tablet with a reasonable camera, but it always pays to buff up first & read what the experts report.
