I had to go into the settings and manually check for an update as it didnt prompt me. It came out in the UK yesterday but it wasnt showing for me when I checked last night. This morning it came through though.

Does this mean that a lot of the apps in the Play store are not going to instal now until they're updated

Kies never works for me, but its good to know that it works for some people.

Don't think we have got the latest version though as the Google tabs have version 4.2

4.2 allows multiple user profiles, useful for family use, I'll have to stick with Applock for the time being.

I don't know whether pre-installed apps will or will not play, but there are most certainly issues with many apps, the banks apps and iPlayer. But my tablet came with 4.1.1 installed. Maybe it will be different to the download.

Navigate to Settings > Apps, and enable the option which lets you see all apps. Then, you scroll down the alphabetical list to Google Services Framework, open it up and tap Clear Data and then Force Stop. Now, again, try checking for the System Update using the previous method; it should show a very old date, if not you should try again.
Or Kies from your pc here http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/usefulsoftware/KIES/JSP

    Hi

    We have an 7" & 10.1"

Both have updated but the 7" the screen layout as changed, menu bar is at top, quick buttoms on the bottom are in different places. This has not happened on the 10.1"

Any ideas if we can change the positions of these on the 7"?

You could try Go Launcher HD free and see what it does,I use it myself on the Tab 10.1https://play.google.com/store/search?q=go+launcher+hd

No luck with this method, I'll wheel out the PC and try the Kies method
