New Hounds
Hi all,
Some of you may remember my thread from about 6 weeks ago when we lost our goregeous grey to bone cancer. He left a massive hole in our hearts and to be honest I was really worried about my dad, he was lost without him.
A few weeks ago I broached the subject of another dog, we felt guilty for even considering it but I think our boy would have approved. Dad looked on the Retired Greyhound Trust and spotted a small brindle girl, the complete opposite of our huge black boy.
My parents went to meet her and were smitten, they also met an older girl of 8.5 who had been rehomed 5 times  So we now have two greyhounds lazing around the house!!
We still desperately miss our boy and feel cheated that he was taken from us too soon and too quickly but these loveable little girls are easing that pain a little bit.
Just thought i would share

There is no wrong or right time to get another dog when one passes. Only the wrong or right time for you and it sounds like now was the right time for the whole family xx
I agree with Mollie's sentiments and whilst we're not ready for a forever friend, fostering is helping us heal.
Like StressMonkey says now is the right time for you and I wish you all the happiness possible with your new girlies.
Hugs and kisses to you all xx :)
Molliepops thats a really nice way of looking at it.
I wish we could take on more hounds, there are soooo many out there without a hope of ever finding a home - so many big black boys that nobody wants, but they are truly the best ones.
Will post some picture when I work out how to!!
