From the original Are You Being Served? cast this now just leaves Nicholas Smith who at 79 is younger than I thought in fact making him 38 I believe when the pilot was filmed (he looked older).
Sad to hear about Frank but at 92 a long life well lived with plenty for people to look back on and admire.
Yes he had a good innings and it is nice to hear he went peacefully in his sleep and not suffering from an illness, but that aside its a great shame, another one gone . It makes you sit back and think about your own age and how quickly time goes it doesnt seem that long since AYBS was on our screens ( and I am not old) very sad and my thoughts go to his family and friends, 67 years married , now thats an achievement in his business.
RIP Frank and thanks for the laughs ( Are You being Served and Grace and Favour being my favourites)

I know, that's a surprise!
Anyway, will very much miss Cap'n Peacock and 'Truly of the Yard'.
R.I.P., Frank. A life well-lived

It certainly does.I am now at that age where the people who were on TV when I was growing up are starting to die through old age.Patrick Moore,Clive Dunne,Richard Briers,Norman Collier,Tony Gubba and now Frank, all in recent months.

Loved Are you Being Served? Think that there is only Mr Rumbelow left now.
RIP Captain.
Yes Nicholas Smith who played Mr Rumbold is still around, he is 79 now.
Mike Berry is still about.
...........and scores of other things too.

What a full life he lead! .......and how much more interesting than spending far too many years in offices like me.
Well done Frank, you made your mark!
RIP.
Sadly not anymore RIP Frank
Thanks for the info, although I know. I just didn't want to list everything

Last series was shown in early 1985, twenty-eight years ago.
I can't imagine anyone else playing Captain Peacock half as well.
