Cant put my finger on why but I didn't think much of the start to this years series especially in comparison to last year.
edit: although I did find Dom trying to translate what Tony was saying to the Spanish police rather funny.
It was a good episode, not as good as last years but a good one.
I think they put a lot of effort into last years because it was basically the start of the end for Brendan. The music, the way it was shot and the story were all superbly done and rightly so for a character that complex.
I just posted in the wrong section but I have a few questions-
I know who Dom is but why did he go to prison and who is the man with him and Tony?
Also the guy who is in the army with Louis, the bigger lad was he part of hollyoaks before?
Thanks
Also Finn, the man with Tony used to own The Loft with Tony and Lewis (Mandy and Tom's older brother who committed suicide). Think they may have been the original owners, but don't quote me on that.
I'm not a gun expert but I'm pretty sure that would hurt their shoulders quite a bit.
If not cause serious damage for people with no experience with firearms.
From experience, I'd say you're right (some years ago I went to a farm owned by a relative of a friend for a weekend, where I tried clay pigeon shooting for the first time, and no matter how tight you hold the gun to your shoulder, it still kicks like a b*****).
Yeah because none of them are attractive to me and also, why would I want to see three men have sex? That does nothing for me, i'm straight. Also, I find the way they constantly have Danny Mac taking his top off very objectifying.
It's interesting that while its OK for the male cast to take their tops off, it NEVER seems to happen with the female members of the cast (although that top Carmel was wearing in tonight's E4 episode, when she was in the kitchen with Jim was VERY close!!).:D

IIRC, it was just Finn and Lewis who owned the loft - I think at the time, Tony was running a restaurant called "Deva"( the roman name for Chester).
Also, I think Finn fitted in well from the start, and everything after Tony finding the Bible empty, was in his imagination.
Useless HO fact - Thaila Zucchi, who played Harriet's (Harry's girfriend) mother was in Allstars with Ashley Taylor Dawson. (Yes, I'm certain that you needed to know that.:D)
On paper it doesn't look like the strongest set of storylines, but I think they're doing a very good job of blending them in and having the right balance of storylines and which parts come when, all seem interesting as of now.
Miles better than the teen storyline was last year.
They possibly ran out of time/filming capacity but I would have liked to see a bit of this explained on the main show before Esther headed off. And why they took Holly but not Ruby, I was expecting that to be explained in the first episode.
Likewise, Theresa's taking off.
Nice to see Duncan back and Duncan/Theresa interaction. It's not the first time the poor lad has been rejected by Theresa. Louis is well played so far.
Lots of exciting surprise moments like when Holly turned the gun on Callum.
Dom's Spanish was hilarious, I think the actor is doing a great job!
And Finn's great. But I feel very, very sorry for Diane.

BIB 1 - I hadn't thought about that, but yes, it is odd that Ruby isn't there - but bearing in mind how that SL has gone so far, she might have ended up like a spare wheel;
BIB 2 - Aside from the fact I always get confused when Diane's son is mentioned , Finn/James Redmond fitted in from his first appearance, and continued in much the same way;
BIB 3 - I'm certain that Tony WILL survive, and when he gets back, he'll be there for Diane - assuming that any of the Tony story is real, rather than some anaesthetic induced hallucination.:)
Edit: I can't imagine that they would kill Tony off, either - As last surviving member of the original cast, I strongly believe that if he dies, then the entire village would implode.:D

Oh I'm certain he'll survive too
But I feel sorry for Diane because of how worried and concerned she is for him and yet he still upped and left her when she is heavily pregnant, when even he is not sure of if he'll be back. Love how she sent him the scan.
Can't believe Sinead told Trevor Tony was going. Tw*t.

How do we know it was Sinead who told Trevor? (Did I blink & miss something again?)

It was a blink and you'll miss it moment but yes, When Trevor first goes up too talk too Tony he says "Sinead said you were going away" or something along those lines

I'm not sure, he could die but then surely he'd die in the earlies as it's a bit of an insult to have him die in something not every hollyoaks viewer bothers with.
I don't think any of his storyline is real.
Can anyone give me a round-up of Later's best bits and what's going on? I can't watch it, I HAVE to be asleep then and I have crappy dongle internet and bog standard tv, so I can't catch up through the day
(I only watch Hollyoaks and one other programme ever, I'm actually not even a big TV fan O.O *hides)

Thanks - I just didn't remember seeing Sinead in the programme.
I am loving Finn! James Redmond as sliiped right back into his role brilliantly.
Really looking forward to this week. I wasn't a fan of last year's at all. How many bad things can we make Brendan do after the watershed.
I think the teen stuff will get really chilling and hadn't thought at all where it was heading until someone mentioned about Jade being linked to the transplant as it's referenced throughout the ep. Maybe that creepy guy is her brother and Esther has another one of their family members liver so they blame her for their death? And to punish her will try and kill Tilly, life for a life.
So we are definitely getting 2 main character deaths then? It seems pretty obvious that Callum is going to be one of them... Still not sure who the other will be...
Maybe Tilly?
Does Jade count as a "main" character?
Didnt think until a few days ago, but thinking it could be Tony, losing his battle with cancer. (Altho I agree that the whole thing COULD turn out to be a dream in his final moments... As they say you see all the people you love, which is why Harry has randomly appeared.)

Well, I don't think you're allowed to show naked boobs at six-thirty in the evening or in public at any time. There's a weird societal double-standard about that isn't there? What's the difference really between men's pecs and women's breasts apart from the size?
I think there's two things here worth mentioning. They have guys like Danny Mac take his top off a lot because they want to appeal to the core audience, which is female.
And while we don't see boobs, we definately see certain characters such as Theresa and Carmel in revealing clothes most of the time.

It would make more sense if the dream started at the end of episode 1 when he's underwater.
A genuine LOL when I read that!!:D
Couldn't agree more.

Hello, and welcome!!
But isn't she always? Have you seen the "Later - meet the cast" video on the E4 website?
Is he even going to be in it anymore, bearing in mind that Louis & Theresa have just driven off without him?
Who?
Kurt was killed in a boating accident in about 1999.
I assumed she had a serious itch in her leg, and that's why we couldn't see her right hand, and it explained the way she was moving.:D
Maybe they could kill each other.
What other reason could there be?
I think it was money - and I think Harry might have taken it.
And Will's wheelchair gets a puncture from a splinter, meaning he has to walk out of the flat to escape..!!:D

Yup, although Tony grew up thinking Dom was his cousin until about 2005, but even so Finn/Rory would have known Dom as Tony's cousin
Not really, he's always been a bit like that.
I assume Tony would have told her about him at some stage.

Please take Finn back as a regular cast member
That is all
Totally agree loving Finn
Agreed! And not just for the nostalgia, he is comedy gold!
Thanks - I just didn't remember seeing Sinead in the programme.

Ok, I need to go back to work now...
Absolutely. It's a shame because I want to like him, his original brooding loner personality is his best.
I liked his dynamic with Maddie and I'm sure I'd feel the same about Holly if they were actually given some screen time together!
I think he probably will die this week, just another easy way out for the show when they can't be bothered to develop their characters.
Maybe Tilly?
