You can purchase a Netflix compatible blu-ray player etc to watch it on the tv if you want. Well worth it imo.
do you know what cable I would need
All you need is one cable – a HDMI cable, one end plugged into your laptop and one end plugged into your TV. Simple.
You can get a HDMI cable for a few pounds on eBay.
then if I do get really bored I can play games on it
(I tried the HMDI thing but it stopped working for me but its a good option if you have a compatible laptop!)
HDMI cable from your laptop/computer into your TV? It's what I do all the time.
Can't wait for Monday to see the new episode!
cable sounds like the cheapest option, but I have asked a few peeps about this, one who tried it and they stated that, the sound still failed to come through on the tv, another technical dude, stated, that you need a seperate lead to run the audio of say a netflix stream through the tv, so that the sound comes out on the tv, from the tv speaker, kinda thing
I've never had an issue with sound linking an HDMI cable from laptop to TV, its designed to take audio as well as video.
Get yourself a lead pronto! and sign up for a free month on netflix while your at it.
This sounds like they were using a VGA cable and not a HDMI cable.
VGA cables will only carry the visual to the television so you’d need to sort out the audio separately. But HDMI should carry visual and audio without a problem. You can get a HDMI cable from some pound shops, give it a go, you’ve got nothing to lose really (apart from a pound!).
I have a laptop that's permanently connected to the TV, I've been torrenting on it daily and watching it through the TV for ages with no problems whatsoever.
It's called product endorsement. Google that term.
i agree, but i'm fairly sure i pay £5.99 a month.
i think netflix have announced (tonight) each ep will air at 12 noon for uk netflix people, when it was widely believed to be 3:00 am initially.
Hey Lionel, as I suspected that streaming server collapsed under the weight of too many visitors
Gonna have to fall back on downloading via IRC instead... caught the first 5 minutes and its whetted my appetite for more! Just hope someone uploads it quickly!
mine did too, luckily i was on a forum elsewhere with a few others and got one right away, didn't even miss a beat cos it was at the first ad break that mine went.
i'll be netflixing them from now on though, not waiting up til 2 every monday morning.
great episode though.
tread lightly...
