Has There Ever Been Films Longer Than Cloud Atlas In The Cinema
Cloud Atlas without the adverts is 2 hours 52 minutes so add adverts on and that is 3 and a half hours.:eek::eek:
Quite long considering it's one of those movies where you have to take in everything to understand it.

With or Without adverts.
That's not considering arthouse stuff like Satantango which is 450 minutes long:eek:
Especially some of the epics from the 1960s.
Once Upon a Time in America (1983)
Doctor Zhivago (1965)
And famously Greed by Erich von Stroheim (1924)
Those are just three off the top of my head.
Strange question. Without. How can a film-maker have any idea how long or how many adverts any one cinema is going to show before the movie itself is shown?
of course there has, you only need to google rather than make a pointless post about it. Also no one includes adverts when describing film run times.
Some of the films mentioned in previous posts are shorts compared to this lot
They have zero to do with the running lengtt of a film - unless your local cinema is now showing them during the film ???
They affect how long you are sitting in the cinema and range from 5 minutes - 45 minutes.
Logic and common sense tells you that what you quoted is most likely true.
The director's cut was 5 and half hours long.
I like the fact that one near the top is entitled "The Cure for Insomnia"
Anyway, while a longer than average film, there is nothing remarkable about the length of Cloud Atlas.
I was going to mention that one too.
no spoilers plz
I've seen some films at cineworld and there have been 30 minutes of ads / trailers before the movie at times .
trouble is a coupla times there's only been 5 minutes of ads / trailers , so you never know .
Cloud Atlas is truly breathtaking it its sheer awfulness, although Ben Whishaw looks pretty good in a dress.
If you like ludicrously bad make-up and terrible acting this is the movie to see.
