I thought Diane still wore a wig until I saw some old episodes, then I realized that her old hair (the wig) was enormous! So her hair now must be her real hair, but highlighted blonde.
Hello everyone! I am new to the site, but thought I would join in!
I also thought Diane wore a wig, and no idea that Val did!! Maybe its my eyes.. I will be on the look out in Monday's episode. Also, I think I missed something, but where is Diane, where has she gone? They mention her as not around, but I dont know where she is?

Hello and welcome
I didn't think either of them wore wigs Diane has gone to Brighton I think, to see Bernice's ex and other daughter (Deedee?)
ah, ok.... I must have missed that bit somehow I was totally confused as to where she was with Bernice back and Chas out of prison. Funny time for the actress to be off given all of the SLs taking place in the Woolie...
Watching a few episodes as I have recently, my main observation about Emmerdale is how stale it's become. It's in urgent need of surgery, preferably with better storylines, some characters who you actually care about and a shift away from the constant lying and criminality we get. I'm really hoping the next producer can achieve at least a measure of this. The show as it stands is awful in my opinion. Six million for the Xmas episode was poor but not surprising. It looks like Moron & Laurel, Chas, Cain, Paddy, Bernice and the Chavs are all in it for the long haul, so a return to consistent good form seems unlikely. Any improvement would be welcome though.

BIB He better be;) But there certainly needs to be less doom and gloom and a move back to the old community feel that has disappeared over the past year or so.
But there certainly needs to be less doom and gloom
The opening scenes of the Xmas episode set the tone for the whole show. A collection of miserable gits all moping around to the grim Tears For Fears Mad World cover. How depressing
I get the completely opposite impression - in fact the opening scenes of the Xmas episode set the tone for the whole show. A collection of various miserable gits moping around to the grim Tears For Fears Mad World cover. How depressing
Ha! Very true, can't argue with this at all. That's two Christmasses in a row that have been pretty depressing (Amy giving away her baby the year before). THIS year though I never made the mistake of watching it on Xmas day itself and caught up with Xmas eve, day and boxing day episodes on the 27th.
I know people complain that EE is depressing but to me it was 'party time!' compared to ED. EE was full of people arguing, shocks etc but it didn't leave me feeling down like ED did - in fact I found all the shouting, facial expressions etc on EE highly amusing :D
Anyway, WHEY HEY!!!!!!!!!!!!! PART 7!!!!!!
I'm almost sure I've commented in every single part
I thought last Christmas was depressing, but nevertheless very moving. This time, it was a character I don't care about murdering another character whom I didn't care about (and who was purely in the wrong place at the wrong time). there wasn't enough of the more festive stuff, like family meal scenes. But this year they won't be worrying about doing dramatic stuff for a 40th anniversary, so they might get back to character development.
Don't encourage jaded, musty. ED has to take it's fair share of what it is doing to me. I know I hear you cry, just switch off but I cant although Mr tinks would like me to

Its the Geordie Goddess thats keeping you in tinkie!:D
On the subject of the xmas episodes i didnt think they were THAT depressing considering the material involved there were some heartwarming moments to balance it out!
Unlike last years which sucked everything emotionally out of me it was ok viewing!

Val wears a wig :eek::eek:
I saw an interview with her on Daybreak, if IIRC she had blonde hair, so she does wear a wig
