With the poor exchange rate where £1 = €1.11 like I saw today I wouldn't be bothered going to any Eurozone country to be honest for a 'bargain break'. Stuff isn't that cheap when you get there any more

Which is why North Africa has become so popular in recent years. It doesn't matter how many revolutions they have and how terroristy they become, millions of Germans are overflying the expensive eurozone countries like Greece and Spain to go to places like Egypt.

I loved Barcelona and from there loved our visits to Montserrat and Girona.

Lloret de Mar on the other hand...............

I've heard many complaints about British tourists on the Costa Del Sol, Algarve, Med/Canary Islands, etc. over the years.

Of course most of these complaints are from other British tourists. But if the Spaniards have the gumption to say something and attempt to address it then let's all dump on Spain! How very dare they!

I don't know why everyone raves about Barcelona as a city, I found it really overrated.

Petty crime is rife there too

Some people are so hard to please. I don't know how anyone could look at La Sagrada Familia and not go away awestruck.

But hey ho, more lomo embuchado and Fino for me then!

Cheap booze, larger measures, bars and clubs open until the early hours, all night happy hours, party cruises with free drink all day and they wonder why people get drunk?

Hey Miguel talk about shutting the gate after the horse has bolted, you've hardly been discouraging it have you?

that's because it's meant for decent law abiding people who can drink and socialise and maintain self control, not for morons who don't know how to talk to others and the only way they can have "fun" is to fall over in the gutter and offend the locals.

No it isn't it's to make as much money as possible from tourists regardless and you'll find it's mainly the locals who own and run them, locals who promote them and believe it or not, local kids also get pissed and end in the gutters.

If the authorities were that concerned they would have restricted opening hours, taken away licences, shut them down or whatever years ago but no, they want the money.

If it wasn't for us those thriving coastal towns would be two men and a donkey.

And you wonder why some europeans have a problem with the British?

They don't have a problem with British people's money though.

I once heard a Spanish hotelier comment about how he loved the British guests over the Italians, the French etc. for one reason - they spent lots of money there. Many other nationalities spend next to nothing apparently.

They are nothing but hypocrites to start being choosy now especially as Spain is dying on it's arse economically

Stick your nose up with disdain at the complaints all you like. My brother in law and his family recently decided to avoid holidays there because of having to put up with the antics of pissed numpties.

It's not only a concern for the locals but other tourists many of which are also British.

Avoid the whole of Spain? There are plenty of places in mainland Spain, the Balearics and the Canaries where there is not a problem with 'pissed numpties'.

What about the Scots, Irish and Welsh? Are they still allowed to go on drunken rampages?
