    In my dreams :

    Really mature cheddar

    Red onion

    Salad

    Low fat mayo

    Chillies/chilli sauce

    Dijon mustard

    M&S sandwich mustard

    In an artisan brown bread/roll

    Veggie burger

    Gherkins

    Sea salt & black pepper

Served in an artisan brown bread roll or slices.

You really need to visit Santinos Diner Take away at Newcraighall in Edinburgh (just behind the Church arts centre).

He does the best pulled pork & home made meatballs I have ever tasted! His tomato & garlic meatball sauce is to die for. And all very reasonable price too. Don't let a little wait put you off. It is WELL worth it!:D

Tesco egg and bacon or prawn sandwiches made at home are my faves.

    Bacon and brown sauce
    Roast pork and stuffing
    Salami and cheese

When we were in San Fransisco we went to Ikes Place and tried the Kryptonite as seen on Man Vs Food. It was a footlong that contained chicken, turkey, ham, pastrami, salami, roast beef, corned beef, bacon, 2 avocados, beer battered onion rings, breaded mozzarella sticks, stuffed breaded jalapenos, pepper jack cheese, pesto and salad. It was one of the most ridiculous things I've ever eaten, it weighed a tonne and I didn't come close to finishing it. Every few mouthfuls it was like a different sandwich! It tasted nice though!

If buying a sandwich I nearly always go for tuna mayo, chicken & bacon is nice as well, your right they do taste much better when bought from somewhere

I'm not big on sandwiches so it would have to be fish fingers and salad with melted cheese. :o

Granary bread, mature cheddar, spring onion, lettuce, thinly sliced gherkin, mayo and English mustard.

Shop bought, I usually have roast beef but i do like the M&S caramelized carrot and wensleydale one.

Egg mayo with our own eggs (well, from the hens anyway) and good quality mayo, lots of black pepper and sea salt. Preferably on good quality brown bread.

I can't believe you've said that bit. Anyway I have several favourites. A homemade hot egg and bacon is difficult to beat. For a cold sandwich I like cheddar cheese, red onion, cucumber and lettuce with mayo, on a nice crusty wholemeal.
