TV theme tunes that are as good as the show!

What TV theme tunes are as good as the show they start before in your opinion?

I've got to say, my favourite is: Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and the Law & Order franchise in general. SVU depicts the show excellently and is very catchy as well. It's my favourite show too! I especially like the intro to all of the Law & Order (s) shows!

CSI also has a brilliant set of theme songs, as does Person Of Interest...I can't think of many at the moment but there's loads I like...But some I don't like at all.

Anymore theme tunes you can think of that are as good as they show they start before? Any that you think are rubbish? And do you agree or disagree with my suggestions above? :)

I remember the 'Murder She Wrote' theme song quite well, and I thought it was okay.

I've never heard it, because I've never seen it. How's it go? :)

Most programmes don't even have an opening theme anymore!

I used to love the start of Knots Landing, Dallas, Falcon Crest etc in the 80's - PROPER opening titles!! :)

Agree with Knots Landing. That was the best theme tune to any of the prime time soaps. I liked Melrose Place's theme too.

ER, Game of Thrones, New Tricks (it's a catchy theme tune! :D), Parks and Recreation to name but a few.

And even though it's ridiculously short, the Happy Endings intro music makes me smile every time I hear it. Fits the show very well. :)

The first two lines of New Tricks always get stuck in my head after it.

Agree about Game of Thrones and say similar for Band of Brothers and Rome.

Even if I don't like either team involved I also smile on hearing the Champions League coverage starting too.

When the last episode of Cheers aired, I recorded the theme tune with my little tape recorder as I was sad I would never hear it again. I was too young to understand the concept of re-runs... lol! :D

The theme for Pretty Little Liars is fab.

I have a gullty fondness for the Japanese TV show "Boku to Kanojo No XXX". And I really like the opening song called "Honey's Date" by Nacchan Peak. You can listen to it here: LINK
