After much speculation between fans and blogs, it’s now confirmed that Jermaine Dupri will in fact be Mariah Carey’s new manager for her upcoming album. The news was confirmed last night by ‘So So Def’s’ official twitter account.
The duo have been working together professionally since 1994. Together they have written and produced hits such as “Always Be My Baby”, “We Belong Together” and “Shake It Off”. Although this looks great on paper, many fans worry that he may not have what it takes to guide Mariah to the top spot. The legendary diva, who’s upcoming album is set to be released ‘soon’ (her words) will have to be managed very carefully. At this point in her career she needs to deliver solid performances, quality material and promote directly to her target audience.

like JT and Timberland
Missy and Ciara
and Missy and Timbaland
and Pharell and Kelis
also diclipline era except for feedback had no major hits.
and the recorded company stopped promoting it.
really think this is a bad idea Mariah's last two albums haven't made an impact even though I loved merry Christmas II you.
shame she was pregnant at the time and couldn't promote it as much I was hoping she would work with other producers.
I know that she has r Kelly & walter but I really don't want to hear another album or song which is a duplicate of we belong together/don't forget about us.
Big news
I'm quite sure people remember Mariah Carey, her last single went Platinum in the US and was a top 30 in the UK.
*Not trying to shade Christina Milian, but she's an example of an artist once popular who is at present more like "hmm...where is she now?"
At the rate they collaborate, you'd think so. She's written tons of songs with him, some of her biggest too: Always Be My Baby, We Belong Together, It's Like That et al.
But Randy Jackson has been her manager for many years now.
Anyway, I'm really frustrated Mariah has done this. Jermaine isn't a manager, he's a writer/producer and I can't see this doing wonders for her career. I'm sure she has the money and the offers for someone much more qualified and would do a better job.
surely she should be hiring him again did they have a falling out?
Ah right, that`s probably why i thought he was
