My mate has bought a new laptop, while having a PC at home. He had the TalkTalk router and bought a wireless router.

He was now unplugged his Talk Talk router and installed his wireless router.

Its now asking him for his username and password, which he cannot remember, will he have to phone talk talk to get this?

    He should be able to get it from his old router - connect to it by entering http://192.168.0.1 into internet explorer or firefox

    The login is his phone number plus a random password

    There might be some other settings he needs - these are all on the talk talk website under support

    It should be ok - he just needs to enter all the settings. Talktalk only support certain approved routers but others should work just as well

    From the talktalk website

    The following modems and routers have been tested and have no connection issues with our network:

    Wireless routers:

    * DG834G - Version 3
    * Huawei HG520
    * Philips SNA5630NS
    * Belkin G Wireless
