    full quote on bsx blog

Look like it we still carry on but as a web show only.

Will the same happen to Television X ?
What will the hours be use for?

I am happy that a paid channel has gone from freeview as there seem to be getting more and more over the last 3 years.

I bet it was TVX that complained if BSX were showing harder stuff to what TVX show both is nothing compared to European tv

Ofcom is responsible for the regulation of premium pay phone services, Phonepayplus is an agency of Ofcom.

Ofc*** is poison and should be shut down.

If parents don't want their kids to hear swear words or see sex/violence then it should be up to them to be actual parents. Why bother having kids if you can't look after them:mad:

So basically, you are saying you aren't happy with the decision. Oh well, that's life.

We need regulation, thats a a reality i think you will have to grasp.
I agree with you regarding kids though.
And the fact that Ofcom is useless. What we need is a regulator that doesn't go on power trips like they are now and stifling creativity.
Ofcom needs to be abolished and something newer, modern & with the advancement of technology in mind with regards to setting up the rules. And run by people with the brain capacity that beats a goldfish. . .!

I remember, when I first got an Astra Dish circa 1989, laughing at the 1970s German soft porn movies then shown by RTL
What i really want on Freeview is a Channel showing classic French and Italian films 1950-1980, such as La Dolce Vita,
and God Created Woman and Les parapluis de cherbourg.

Indeed, Lilo Wanders on Vox was compulsive viewing :D

Why do so many people want to get rid of the slapper channels are they prudish or are they under the delusion that these channels take up band width that could be put to other use. The slapper channels sub-let bandwidth from channels who do not broadcast late night early morning. If broadcasters thought they could use the bandwith and make money in the overnight hours then they would use it.

It looks like ch 177 now has the same message on screen. But only put's it up when the channel is onair.

It looks like ch 177 now has the same message on screen. But only put's it up when the channel is onair.

It's a still video caption rather than the MHEG caption on 174. Actually LCN 176 and 177 (Blue and Babestation 2) carry the same video caption during their scheduled broadcasting hours. The caption states: This service is currently not avaliable. (The spelling error is actually present on the slate).

It's unlikely that these channels have also been closed by the authorities. As far as I know, they were classed as adult "teleshopping" channels, advertising premium rate adult chat line services. Not the usual live Babestation type shows.

Speculation time: could these timeslots be closing to make way for an extension to Really's hours? Really has programmes between 4am and 7am on other platforms but this is still downtime on freeview. Another possibility, of course, is that these slots could be linked together to make a Yesterday +1 service, allowing UKTV to keep LCN 26 when Top Up TV closes.

So with all 3 LCN not broadcasting anything that 7 hours of unused freeview spaces.Look like there might be a lot of changes at the end of October binging of November.

It's odd that there is even a caption on 174 if the channel was closed down by the authorities, maybe they intend to use the slot for a different service. Remember though that the 3 hours following the ex Babestation X slot is spare capacity, so potentially an 8 hour slot. There's not much demand from broadcasters for these hours and the departure of Top Up TV releases similar timeslots to 5, so it will be interesting to see if, in the short term, these hours are filled at all.

This was a classic example of how to present "adult" material properly. Even my wife enjoyed it!

That will, most likely, be covered by the Government's proposed compulsory web filters.

The slapper channels are generally on a one month rolling contract, so this move could have been initiated by Arqiva etc, wanting their night-time Freeview slots back.

There appears to be no restriction on satellite slapper channels (which mirror the Freeview channels often with different labels)..

That's the impression I got, possibly because another broadcaster has expressed an interest in extending their service hours. The 1 hour "adult teleshopping" slots always seemed largely pointless. Did they actually get any viewers?

One benefit of these channels that come on at 4 and 5 in the morning is they push their potential competitors to higher numbers.

The only way these channels were to shut down is if the channels were in serious breach of the rules and a significant drop in call stats, that isn't gonna happen for some time as the channels seem to be doing the correct thing currently. :D:D:D:D:D
