I hope my comment came across as friendly banter rather than bitchiness. Tone of voice (or lack thereof) is always a concern in Internet communication.

That's why they invented the smiley. :)

    Friendly banter lulu? Really?

    OK, replace the word.

Ste is hilarious and touching and funny.

I suppose you're right. I tend to avoid using them much, in the (old-fashioned) hope that words should be enough, but even I have to acknowledge that there might be times when words might be misconstrued.

OK, right back at me. I accept that, even if I might not always agree. (But, yes, friendly banter, rather than confrontation, really was my intention.)

Really starting to dislike Ste though, he's very rude, ignorant and so camp now. When he and Doug were pitching to Amy he really made me cringe!

Same, I swear him and Doug have had very slight personality transplants. Cute storyline but I used to love it when the characters had on screen time a few months ago and now I'm just meh  they must have changed for me not to have some insane crush on Dougie at the moment :D:o

LOVING Riley, Mercedes overload not so much, Maddie can **** off as usual, George was amazing, Riley and Doug need to be friends on screen again, as annoying as the camp 'fitness' guy was it was great when they were all living together, nights out etc, loved it.

I agree, they should get Riley and Doug back doing those things on screen. Going against the grain here, but I actually liked Ethan when it showed his friendship/activites with Riley and Doug, just not when he was being a cop or three-timing Theresa, Liberty and Rae (r.i.p again Rae)

Ugh I found "the lads" stuff completely cringy, it made all those involved really unlikable to me. Not a big fan of blokey bloke stuff.

Agree. It was forced and awful and I was glad they dropped it a quick as they did and didn't submit us to any more of it.

How do you feel Doug has changed? I'm a huge fan of him and I think he's still the same level-headed, caring guy he's always been, especially towards Ste when he's been upset and Doug's just spoken to him and calmed him down.

I agree, I miss Riley and Doug's friendship and I miss Ethan too but the way I wanted their friendship to play out didn't happen very well on screen :( My favourite moments between those characters were more recent developments like when Ethan returned after the Silas time, or when Doug was there for Riley over Mercedes.

I also must say how pleased I am Doug's getting more screen time. He used to disappear for weeks at a time and then only show up for other people's stories but since the suicide plot and now his business with Ste, I couldn't be happier that he's getting his own stories :)

I've liked little Dougie for ages and I'm so glad he's getting a chance to shine.

TBH the Stug filler is pretty much all that's kept me watching just lately. That and occasional bits of Mitzeee, Barney or Liberty being awesome.

    Me too! :)

Aw same here (besides Brendan). I think it's a great plot, really gives Doug the chance to make something of himself and gain a new friend. Mitzeee, Barney and Liberty are also awesome

I was re-watching older Ste stuff recently from before Brendan and I gotta say I don't see that he has changed much. He looks different, granted, but he was pretty darned bitchy back in the day. I actually find the snarkiness we have seen from him since the Disneyland bit to be closer to how he used to be than the way he was during most of the Brendan abuse story arc.

All that said, I love Ste. I loved to hate him all through the Amy abuse and I have long found him to be a very interesting and pretty complex character. I have really enjoyed the Doug and Ste story-line so far.

Oh, I loves me Brendan and all, I'm just waiting for him to have something to do other than stand around looking studly (not that I mind looking at him looking studly).

Mmm I know what you mean. He can stand topless a little more often though, I won't complain

Him standing topless in the foreground, but with some sort of actual storyline in the background.

I have gone off Doug now and it must be the storyline with Ste, there have been a couple of scenes I have enjoyed, but overall there story has really bored me. I don't care for Ste and dislike Amy, so I guess they are the reason why I am going off Doug, because he is always around them now.

I am still waiting for him and Lynsey to get together, I am also waiting for Lynsey to have another storyline!

Funny how different we are then, because I'm completely the opposite!

I love the Ste/Doug stuff, it really makes me laugh, and it gives both characters somewhere to go, doing something independent for the first time.

But I find Lynsey completely overrated. Mainly because the Silas stuff was so strung out. There are only so many times I can hear Lynsey screeching round the place IT WAS SIALLLLLLAAAASS!
    ;)

She wasn't bad in her little facepack scene the other day. That made me laugh. :)

I'm confused. How can you go off one character because of another? Doug's no different with Ste than he has been with any other character.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I don't think Ste is ignorant at all. He's used to be a bad guy, but he's changed so much i have a lot of respect for him now. :)

Of course! He's a sweet, lovely guy now. And a very loving father. I love him! :)

Yes. He was always a character that interested me before Brendan. Whether you loved to hate him during the Amy story, or began to appreciate him as a lovely father to his kids when he got his life on track. Either way, him and Brendan shouldn't be judged by liking the other, they're two different characters and it's entirely possible to like them both together but appreciate them both seperately as well :)

Definitely. I was a fan of Ste's well before Brendan showed up. Even at the height of his nastiness, there was always something human, sad and redeemable at his core. I liked the turnaround he was making, rising above his childhood and past.

I can say I am a fan of the Brendan character because of Ste and not the other way around. I have frankly found Brendan's non-Ste related stories kinda meh. The whole Joel apprentice thing doesn't interest me in the slightest.

On the other hand Ste's non-Brendan stories (with the exception of Noah) have been mostly compelling.

<<<< madly waving my Ste flag >>>>

I also think Kieron is fantastic.

I watched Friday's E4 yesterday, but didn't think there was anything to comment on. For the first time ever I watched it with other people and I was just there saying "wow, isn't this the most exciting episode I've ever seen" and was willing it to end.

The Will stuff was very poorly acted out and written, as others have said - very cringey!
Riley/Mitzeee didn't enjoy, it didn't have the spark that the two characters usually have - not in a couply way that most want, but in a each character individually is usually good, but there was something missing.

I don't think anything else happened?? Nothing actually happened in the episode full stop, just a boring, very long drawn out episode.
