Favourite movie theme...

Been browsing round Youtube this afternoon listening to some of my favourite movie themes trying to decide which is my favourite of all time. There's been many classics through the years, but I've narrowed it down and I genuinely can't choose between Jurassic Park and Indiana Jones.

So thought I'd throw it open to DS. Which is your favourite? Any underrated classic movie themes that never seem to get any love?

Blade Runner & Once Upon A Time In The West are a couple of my favourites. Pity the days are gone when composers like Max Steiner, Dimitri Tiomkin, Victor Young etc wrote great film scores back in the '50s.

Love a lot of the aforementioned themes .....Star Wars , Indy, Jurassic Park, Superman etc. I also really like Batman theme from the Tim Burton films. Another favourite of mine is Witches Of Eastwick which is very similar to the Harry Potter theme.

Wojciech Kilar's score for Coppola's Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992). Often used during other (scary) movie trailers.

    Dambusters
    Back to the Future
    Batman - Tim Burton Version
The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
    Halloween
    Escape From New York
    Star Wars
    Ghostbusters
The Godfather - Gotta love the Strings
    The Pianist
    Lord of The Rings
    Superman
    Indiana Jones
    Electric Dreams
    The Journey of Natty Gann

And loads more though got to say listening back to some of these Natty Gann brings the most smiles to me.

I doubt I could narrow it down to one score. In terms of individual pieces of music, the theme from Schindler's List and Gabriel's Oboe from The Mission are both outstandingly beautiful and haunting, I couldn't pick between them.

In terms of overall score though, it has to be a list:

    The Mission
    Schindler's List
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
Once Upon a Time in the West
The Lord of the Rings trilogy
    The Godfather
    Harry Potter
    Star Wars
    ET
    Indiana Jones
    Cinema Paradiso
    Out of Africa
    Gone With the Wind
    Murder on the Orient Express
    Shawshank Redemption
    Gladiator

I'm sure there are others I've forgotten!

Superman, Star Wars, ET, Raiders of the Lost Ark, pretty much John Williams all the way.

    Local Hero
Batman ('89) - I love the whole soundtrack not just the main theme
    Edward Scissorhands
    Shawshank Redemption end credits piece
    Beetlejuice
    Back to the Future
Ghostbusters - Bernstein's score rather than Ray Parker Jr's song
    Revolutionary Road - Thomas Newman

You certainly can not beat any Jerry Goldsmith soundtrack, particularly The Omen & Total Recall, to name a couple.;)
