The Queen of British Pop.
Having featured on 11 number 1 songs, she is the most successful British female artist of all time.
She is the only solo British female to achieve four consecutive number one singles on the UK charts - the only other solo act to achieve this feat being, the very male, Elvis..
She has sold over 87 million records worldwide and....
guess who's coming back.

For the time being at least ;-)
Oh, hang on, it's Geri Halliwell.
She's released two albums in the last few years, so hardly.
Geri has only sold around 80 million records if you include Spice Girls singles and albums, which then make up the vast majority of that total so you're stretching the truth a bit there.
She is, but this thread is about the British queen of pop, which the title clearly says:)
The only one worthy of a title was King Elvis. And he didn't even want it.
or anybody else but defo NOT Gerri Halliwell
The sales figures and record achievements, whatever your personal opinion on Geri, speak for themselves.
75 Million record sales worldwide as part of the Spice Girls
12 Million record sales as a solo artist.
Four consecutive number one singles on the UK chart. (the only solo female to do so in UK chart history)
Arguable the most iconic female of 1990's pop.
The Spice Girls have sold in excess of 75 Million records, Geri has sold 12 million records.
a) Most acts today (excluding the likes of Adele and lady Gaga) would kill to have those kinds of record sales.
b) Geri was de-facto leader of the Spice Girls and wrote/co wrote most of the Spice Girls songs - far more than any other of the girls - not to mention her being the driving force behind the band,
There is no question that The Spice Girls would not have been as big of a phenomenon without Geri's blind ambition and savvy.
The Union Jack Dress, the songs and lyrics, the music video concepts, the outrageous antics
(Prince Charles's bottom pinch, sacking Simon Fuller at the height of their global domination, then going on to manage the band, for the most part, by herself, the infamous Nelson Mandella incident....)
Not to mention the fact that in the early days she had the foresight to convince the other girls to abandon their original management, who wanted the girls to dress the same and have one lead singer - a la a female Take That, she recognised that their individuality and playing up to that was a stroke of genius.
Her role in the Spice Girls between 1994-1998 should not be discredited. There is NO way that the group would have sold that amount of records or reached the 'Michael Jackson' level of global fame without her.
So with that in mind I would say that it's entirely relevant to factor in the sales of the Spice Girls records with her 12 million solo record sales.
Stretching the truth?
She has featured on 11 number one singles - 7 with the Spice Girls - most of which she had the greatest writing input, and 4 (consecutive) as a solo artist..
That's like saying Paul McCartney is only to be judged on his post-Beatles and solo sales.
Ridiculous.
Geri Halliwell has sold in excess of 87 Million records. Fact.
