Panasonic DVD Recorder EZ27 Missing Top Menu Preview

This is more of a technical question.
I am starting to use a Panasonic DVD recorder, an EZ27. I notice when I try to put a title for any recorded titles the screen should display the "Top Menu Preview". However the machine doesn't display this but it states this in the instruction manual.
Does anybody know where I can turn it on?

Done that, doesn't answer my question since it's complex and technical.
If you are wanting to add or change title names on an un-finalized disc, you can do this via the 'titles menu' accessed through the 'direct navigator' key. Once on this 'titles menu' screen, press the 'option' key on your remote and then choose the 'edit' option from the drop-down menu on screen for the title you wish to name/change name.
From what I can remember, I'm pretty sure that the 'top menu' only becomes available after finalizing these discs, after which accessing the 'options' drop down menu via the options key is denied: i.e. I think you must edit your title names before finalizing the disc.
