Basically for the last hour or so the cursor has been moving by itself....
I have tried restarting the computer, shutting the computer down and the cursor was still going crazy afterwards.
I read that cleaning the trackpad has solved this problem before, and i did clean the trackpad with ssbome clearning wipes i have and it did reduce the problem, but the cursor still move slightly at random times without me doing anything.
Also i do have a mouse connected to my mac by usb.

The other thing you can try is resetting the PRAM, which can sometimes cure odd little glitches.
System Preferences > Accessibility > Mouse & Trackpad > Tick the "Ignore built-in trackpad when mouse or wireless trackpad is present"
I'm presuming the Macbook is no longer in warranty.
the mouse is connected by usb...
right now i have taken the usb little micro thing off and im using the trackpad and so far the cursor isnt moving by itself....
im going to use the macbook with the mouse and see if the problem occurs, as if it doesnt, it clearly means there is something wrong with my mouse and i need to get a new one.
yesterady when the mouse wasnt in, the trackpad wasnt respoding at all so i really dont know what to expect...
maybe i should take it to the apple shop? i bought it on a student discount so i have apple care for three years....
Nah i bought it last september....I have 3 years apple care. Do you think i should take it to the apple shop or is it something that i can fix myself. the apple shop is kinda far from me, but i will make the visit if it will solve this problem!
the mouse i have is kinda old actually, its a logitech mouse that has dropped from my table alot.
Try another mouse if you can, it sounds like that is probably the root cause.
Or perhaps the ghost of Steve Jobs is haunting you for not using an Apple mouse
sadly i dont have another mouse....i was planning to upgrade on pay day next friday
i hope the mouse is the cause of the problem....i really cba to go apple shop.
I hate using the trackpad though so not sure if i should use the mouse again and see what happens
No point taking it to Apple unless it happens without any mouse plugged in and you've tried the obvious like cleaning the trackpad.
seems to be working fine so far with mouse connected as well
we shall see how long this lasts
what spray the mouse?
Spray the laser with air. Blasts any dust and gunk out of it. Doesn't need much.
