I love the fact that a lot of the Christmas predictions have Miranda in them! I absolutely LOVE the show, and I really really hope that it's on.

Miranda did say on Twitter that it would be on tv at Christmas.

    My fantasy/prediction:

    3pm: HM the Queen
    3.10-4.40pm: Shrek Forever After
    4.40-5pm: BBC News and Weather
    5-6pm: Doctor Who
    6-7.30pm: Up!
    7.30-8pm: EastEnders
    8.30-9.00pm: Miranda
    9-9.30pm: EastEnders
    9.30-10.30pm: Call The Midwife

Notes: I know I've missed off Strictly, but viewing figures are down, and I think that it seems better suited to Christmas Eve. Call The Midwife is a better fit for the big day! Also, I've put the film on a bit later, as it's a big movie, and it could benefit from the Doctor Who lead in. Finally, I know that EastEnders have stopped doing two episodes on Christmas, but I prefer this as there can be a cliffhanger between the two episodes, and makes it feel like more of an event. :)

What about ITV? Corrie, Emmerdale and Downton Abbey?

I hope there are some decent films on. Also hope Michael McIntyre is on again as I enjoyed that last year. As much as I dislike Michael Buble I did enjoy his christmas show, got me in the mood for Xmas.

Im about half way through my shopping...bring it on!

Our lunch is always on during TOTP which always annoys the hell out of me. Who would think it... Christmas, hell, being ungrateful all in one post :D

I don't want to see Royal Family.. I'd rather see a Christmas episode of Goodnight Sweetheart (That obviously won't be happening this year ;().

I would switch The Royle Family and Mrs Brown around, Royle Family is still the bigger and more established show.

I like most of that, but The Dark Knight at 10pm? Way too late! It would be good in a Primetime slot on Eve/Boxing Day. Also, I want to see Despicable Me, but so many good films are on BBC on Xmas day, I wouldn't be able to watch! :(

I think you're spot on there - although series 1 was hugely popular, it's not quite a Christmas Day show. I can see it on the last Sunday before Christmas, similar to how the BBC did a Lark Rise special in 2008 on Sunday 22nd.

So no. To everything. Bar the news/weather.

And it's September 2nd. Why would you even mention the word 'xmas'?

Why do people keep saying that Call the Midwife isn't Christmas Day material? I don't think you could find a show that is so well suited! It's about births, and so is Christmas!

Also, I think ITV should do an X Factor Christmas special (pre-recorded of course), it would certainly give them an easy 8-10 million viewers, and I don't know why they haven't thought of this yet! Especially as SCD has been doing it for years...

Mrs Browns Boys has more of a Boxing Day feel for me. Also if it is bound for Christmas Day, will BBC1 insist on a F word free episode?
