No point getting into this here really but just to say I disagree that the BBC is impartial. It reports certain issues from a particular standpoint - it's clearly pro 'big government' for one thing plus pro Obama. You only wouldn't notice any of this if your political views were similar. For example watch what it does in the run-up to any EU referendum that we may get. It will be a whitewash of panic about what happens if we leave and giving hardly any airtime to the side that wants us to leave. It will reach epic and absurd proportions in the couple of weeks before.
I've really got no idea why Europeans still trust BBC news - I avoid it these days. I think they're under the illusion that it's as trustworthy as it was a few decades ago.
If you think it's pro 'big government' then you've clearly never seen how it sugarcoats and argues the necessity for the coalition's cuts. I agree it's biased: just look at the fawning coverage of the Royalty, and the borderline jingoism on display for the Olympics, but seeing as how Sky News and 90% of the printed press are infinitely worse it starts to look good.
I am a very frequent visitor to Germany, the North East in particular, and can tell you that the Germans often turn to the BBC news.It is common to go into bars and the BBC News will be running, in the absence of anything else. Their own news on DR references the BBC habitually.
Like the Danes, most Germans in the area speak English well, and are rightly proud of their linguistic abilities. I am aware of multi-national companies in Lower Saxony, North Rhine Westfalia, and the neighbouring regions where English is the lingua franca. In fact, when my son went to Germany to improve his skills, whilst at University, he struggled to get his workmates to speak to him in German.

Bjarne Henriksen(He plays Thorsen the Defence Minister and Theis from TK1) and Marian Saastad Ottesen(Sigrid from Lilyhammer) are appearing in this BBC programme. Very weird.
After WWII, English was the first foreign language taught in Danish primary schools (replacing German) and in the Danish educational system French and German are also taught as foreign languages but students start studying those languages later on. Therefore, it's reasonable that PM Birgitte could speak good French.
I see. So Danes are more likely nowadays to speak good English than any other foreign language. I guess German could've stayed as their first language but WWII and being occupied by Germans probably put paid to that.:D

The Lady Vanishes. I wonder if it will be a similar type of co-production to Spies of Warsaw. Which was a bit of a let down IMO. It seemed to be very flat and uninvolving.
Her conclusion: "the whole thing was undermined by the overwhelming sense was that the politics of Denmark are just not important enough to warrant a TV drama of any kind. It was a bit like watching small children dressed up to perform Julius Caesar."
What's slightly worrying is that this woman lives up the road from me and has written an article in the Daily Telegraph saying there are too many Muslims in the area. She's like the Svend Åge of Acton, only less attractive.

Pilou Asbaek, who plays Kasper, was on BBC Radio 4 (I think) a few days ago, and he said that Kasper isn't in the third season a lot. Theres a couple of scenes each episode, but not much more. The fifth episode airs in Denmark this Sunday, from what I've seen and read, its very different to season 1 and 2.

What do BBC4 have planned for the rest of this year now there’s no more TK, Borgen, The Bridge (still filming S2 IIRC), Wallander, Mentalbaldo (small mercies although isn’t “Young Mentalbaldo” imminent?), Sebastian Bergman etc..? Are they showing Unit One?
