Hi. I wondered if anyone recognises these films. They are films I saw when I was a kid and don't know the names of.
Film 1:
A film I remember ended with a really violent shoot-out on a hillside / mountain.
It was British and from what I remember the final shoot-out involved lots of characters being shot in the chest with shotguns. It might have been about IRA terrorists or bank robbers or something.
Anyway the violent shoot-out on the hillside ends and the main character is taken away by police helicopter and the movie ends.
Film 2:
In the 80s / early 90s there was an American movie on ITV in the afternoon. From what I remember it was about a siege in a building. And the military had surrounded the building. There was lots of shots of military police cars. Despite being about a siege, I think the movie had quite a light hearted tone. Probably a PG rated movie of the type you used to get in the 70s and 80s and used to be shown on TV quite a lot. It might have had a slightly over weight, grouchy military commander.
Film 3:
This was about 2 commandos going in to the jungle. It came out at the cinema in the 80s or early 90s.
There was a scene in which the commandos were on top of a wooden guards tower in the jungle. And one of the commandos stood on the head of a soldier to get information. It sounds violent but I think it was only PG rated. The commandos meet a blond woman and there’s a scene in which they handcuff her to a bed. I hope I’m not getting that last bit confused with another movie! Curiously, despite being a Hollywood movie, I’ve never seen or heard of this movie since.
Film 4:
This was about a diamond heist. It was shown several years ago on Channel 5 in the afternoon. From what I remember it was quite light hearted in tone. Maybe a crime caper comedy. It was a U.S. movie and probably from the 70s or 80s. A memorable scene involved the diamonds being transferred from one vehicle to another before the cops got hold of them.
Thanks in advance!
Chucky.

Thanks for your quick reply degsy.
I've watched the trailer and I'm not sure if thats the movie or not. I think I'll have to see the whole film to find out.
The trailer checkily uses the Terminator music!

There are at least 40 films from '70s and '80s that match that description. Any other details you could remember? I mean, like "from one vehicle to another" -- what kind of vehicles? Vans? Racing cars? How were gang members dressed? Clowns? All in black? Suited up? What makes it memorable?
Ordinary cars on public roads. I think (just think!) a tram may have been involved. I think as the loot is passed among different people and different places it's put down some sort of pipe or laundry shoot or something. I think the scene may have been played for laughs, as the amout of people and places the loot is passed amongst, becomes faintly ridiculous. (Due to the amount of pre-planning that would have been involved) (And the amount of people in on the crime)
My memory is telling it might have featured a blue pick up van like this:

I think the people involved were dressed normally. From what I remember the tone was light hearted like an American Italian Job.
it's definitely not Toy Soldiers, Scooterwolf. It was on during the day. I think it's a little bit older than Toy Soldiers and was about the military as they stand outside a building and deal with a siege.
It's a coincidance you mention Toy Soldiers though, as I just remembered and was thinking about that movie a day or 2 ago. spooky!
Sorry I saw these movies when I was a kid and / or just saw a bit of them once. And have since become curious as to what films they are.
Thanks for the replies guys.

I'd agree with The Hot Rock for number 4. Good film.
Watched the trailer for Hot Rock on YouTube. I'm not sure if thats the movie or not. I don't remember it having any big stars in it. Mind you, the only scene I remember seeing is one in which people transfer the loot from one vehicle to another. And the scene took place during the day.
I watched the trailer for Taps, it's definately not that. Once again though, thanks for the suggestions people.
A rather obvious choice for Film 4 might be the early 70s caper movie $, rather more helpfully known as 'The Heist', which has Warren Beatty and I think Goldie Hawn in it.
Hi. I don't think Film 1 is either of those two movies. It was set in Britain. And it had a grubby look to it in the way that only British things do.
I'll check out The Heist AKA $.
Thanks, Chucky.
The Hot Rock is one of my favourite heist films - but I can't remember the diamond being switched in cars. It was hidden in a lavatory cystern in a police precinct holding cell.
I have no idea!
I tried looking for it on YouTube, can't even find a trailer.
Thanks for the suggestion sinbad.
