Even tho you can tell that it was written by the same people who done The Hangover, the film itself is a pretty decent comedy with some scenes that will make you laugh or cringe, depending on your type of humour. It felt that some of the scenes were taken from various films & changed slightly, including one scene that reminded me of "Ferris Bueller's Day Off". It isn't a laugh a minute type of comedy, but is rather enjoyable & the 90 minute length time does go rather quickly.
Django Unchained - Magnificent first hour thanks to the superb Christoph Waltz, then despite a great turn from Leo DiCaprio the film went downhill for me and Tarantinos cameo at the end was just embarrassing. Jamie Foxx was solid throughout but overall I was left a little disappointed. 7/10
I watched The Impossible yesterday. In all honesty, it was a waste of time. The horrendous and tragic footage we all saw at the time is still out there, and I really didn't see the need to make a movie out of it. I know it's supposed to be based on a true story, but you just sit there wondering how much of it has been embellished or altered anyway, so what's the point? Too soon, imo.
Last night I watched The Impossible on Sky Box Office.
It was brilliant acting and a very good film but I now see what the local people thought about the film.
It was very much about the one American family, the lucky family as it happened who all survived.
But the film would have worked better if we had seen a bit more of the local people who lost absolutely everything.
I read an article by one such survivor who did lose her entire family, home and livelyhood. She was right a film would never have made about her tragic story of survival..

Summed up my feelings perfectly. Overrated film from an overrated director.
Broken City 5/10
Russell Crowe at his most wooden
and Marky Mark Wahlberg trying
(and failing) to emote one more time.
Very derivative plot.Could have been
an episode of an eighties tv cop show
aside from the compulsory effing and
blinding.Only gave it five because some
of the support actors were okay, notably
Barry Pepper and Jeffrey Wright.Oh yes
and to prove it was second rate,Catherine
Zeta Jones was in it too!
