With the BRIT Awards soon I was wondering who people think will be nominated or who will perform at the ceremony?

Categories include:
Best British Male Solo Artist
Best British Female Solo Artist
Best British Breakthrough Act
Best British Group
Best British Single
MasterCard British Album of the Year
Best International Male Solo Artist
Best International Female Solo Artist
Best International Group
Best International Breakthrough Act
Critics' Choice
Best British Producer

Additionally, when are nominees usually announced?

Emeli Sande will be up for Best Female Solo, Best Album and most likely Best Single with Next To Me aswell. She'd be up for Breakthrough aswell if she hadn't stupidly already been nominated for that a year early.

And I still think it's ridiculous they got rid of Best International Album.

I love Emeli sande but i have a feeling she may not walk away with Best female. I believe it could be Paloma Faith's time or the lovely Rumer.

Personally, I'd love to see Marina and the Diamonds walk away with something but I can't see it happening, sadly! I do think Emeli Sande will win Best Female because the BRITS are so obvious when it comes to winners and she's te obvious choice!

I hope Marina gets nominated for Best Female, I know she won't win but it would be a nice boost in sales for her album. I think its safe to say Emile Sande will win that one.
Surely they can't have Rihanna winning International Female again?? I hope Lana Del Rey gets it.
Calvin Harris for Best Male I reckon.

    Laura Marling. That is all.

I hope Jessie Ware wins Critics Choice. Or is she ineligible as she's already released an album? Maybe Charli XCX instead.

Emeli Sande will get two or three nominations I think. Labrinth, Calvin Harris and Lana Del Rey will probably do quite well. Marina deserves a couple of nominations too. But I hope Rita Ora doesn't win anything.

I'm hoping for a nomination for her too, and tbh, Emeli deserves it - she's huge atm! Also, Lana Del Rey deserves so much recognition - she's far superior to Rihanna! And Calvin Harris is surely deserving of a nomination?

Rita Ora deserves nothing. I really hope she doesn't even get a nomination - she doesn't write her own material and isn't that great a singer while other artists who do all the work don't get any recognition!

Emeli will sweep up everything, obviously

Hope Keane can get a mention somewhere, and maybe they can let Plan B win something?

Laura Marling won best female a few years ago so it could well happen for Marina too!

Agreed! Her album is classic and her voice is stunning, I think she needs a singing spot as well to get her more recognition a la Adele 'Someone Like You'

Rebecca Ferguson has to win something :) It would be a real shame if she didn't. her album is a real classic!

Could rebecca ferguson be nominated? Her material was eligible for this year's nominations and she got zilch nominations. Although saying that, Paloma faith was nominated for Best Female 18 months after her debut came out.

I don't think Rebecca Ferguson will get nominated.

Hoping there's something for Ben Howard, Jessie Ware and Lianne La Havas.

    I love the BRITS

I think it's a bit too early to predict nominations as Nov & Dec have some key releases.

Also I think I read that to be eligible for nomination the act must have released an album in the previous year, i.e. for the 2013 ceremony only artists that released albums in 2012 will count. As far as I am aware deluxe versions and greatest hits don't count. However, to be nominated for Best Single, only the single has to be released in 2012, even if the album was released in 2011.
