When you start giving a penalty for something that is no fault of the defender then things just get silly. Tennis and Badminton matches are decided over 50+ points so that comparison doesn't work.
The offside rule is a good one IMO as it is. Why should you be flagged offside if the ball is not being played to you? I think there as always been an "interfering with play" rule, at leasts as far back as I can recall (1970).
Finally, I don't think it's a good idea to make up rules just to make sure there is "no argument". To me, these things are all part of the great game.:D
Tend to agree. I can see why people want to make decisions simpler, but simpler isn't necessarily better. The handball rule is fine as it is in my opinion - it either has to be deliberate or the arms have to be up in the air (which is fair enough because putting your arms up increases the chance of the ball hitting you).
You'll get controversy over marginal decisions but it's better than having penalties given for pot luck - e.g. the ball ricocheting off someone on to their hand.

Take on board what you are saying and I totally see where you, and others, are coming from. Was interested in what you thought of the idea though. Hope to contribute more often to this forum as I do enjoy reading it.
Media talk, but I think he will get quite a few games banned from the touchline.
I know Celtic fans won't agree with me but I think Lennon is a liability. In all honesty, after all he has been through I don't find that surprising. I believe the guy is bordering on having a break down. His actions after the Cup semi-final were not good at all.
I wonder what he would have done if a referee had run up to him after a game and had a go for the abuse he'd given him for 90 minutes.
In all honesty, if I was a member of the Referee's Association I would be out to see him hammered for his actions. Is it any wonder they hate him and are 'out to get him'?
His 're-tweet' of a fan's opinion was nothing short of infantile.
He is an embarrassment to Celtic FC.
Apologies to those Celtic fans who find that hard to accept but it is not just Neil Lennon that is a human being to be treated with respect, referee's are as well.
The worst thing that could happen to Rangers just now is Celtic and Lennon parting company. That would only leave one story in town and the increasingly irrelevant fourth estate have been loathe to cover that properly as it is.

Just as well that Lenny is going nowhere.
They've battered him in the street meaning he required medical attention, he stayed. They've sent bullets to him, he stayed. They've sent what was meant to look like bombs to him, he stayed. They've tried to drive his car off the road, he stayed. They've lied to him, he stayed. Members of the press lie to vilify him, he won't be made to leave by them.

I shouldn't have pluralised the driving off the road one as only one person was convicted for that and possibly the one where he was sent bullets as nobody was ever charged for sending him, or the other Celtic players involved, bullets in the post.
Don't you think it's slightly ill-advised to make a connection between the criminal acts and the lying?
I've just listed the various things that have happened to him in his tenure as a Celtic player and manager.
The criminal acts against him haven't moved him, being lied to by McDonald hasn't moved him and the punitive punishments the SFA tried to illegally apply to him haven't moved him.
“You only have to look at the players he has loaned out to other clubs, the likes of Jos Hooiveld, Efrain Juarez, Morten Rasmussen, Darren O’Dea and Daryl Murphy. Are any of them going to come back into his thoughts?
“I wouldn’t have thought there is any chance whatsoever, so it will be either a case of trying to sell them or releasing them.

And if it transpires that it is true and the officials stories don't match up?
That's a very pertinent point.
They really are trying to squeeze every penny that they can out of Rangers.
Can any of our Dundee residents confirm or deny this?
I heard Lenny could be banned for as much as 17 games, is there any truth in that story ?
Unless the whole place was going up, I'm a bit far away to tell!
Likewise I am in the west end so too far away
I assume its a small one
Wait a minute there is a youth cup semi final v qos on tonight. i assume not anymore

Get rid of him for the good of your club.

How can a red card remain 'secret' for almost 3 days?
It just gets more bizarre if it is true.
The people who did the various things to him.

Good to see Charlie Nicholas is keeping up with the Celtic news, telling Lennon to sell the likes of Hooiveld. Deary me.
:D:D
Have you got a link for that?
