Hope someone can help me, Im going to be playing some music videos in a nightclub soon , Im using a mac book pro 2012 with hdmi output, the nightclub only has a vga lead plugged into the back of nightclubs computer , I will unscrew their vga lead and plug it into a conveter , I would sooner use my own mac .
Could someone recommend a converter where I can go from hdmi out from my mac to their vga lead. What will I need hdmi out or in as Its going from my mac into a converter then their vga lead to their tv screens
Is there also a converter that has a dvi output as well, could someone also tell me the difference between dvi and hdmi please?
I have 2 firewire ports on my macbook but would sooner use a converter.
Also what is a good usb 3 hub to give me more usbs on my mac , I just dont know why Apple dont put more than 2 usbs on their macs. I need 4 .
Thanx.

almost any powered usb3 hub should do

Though if you've got a Macbook surely it has a Mini Display port socket on it which you can use a VGA adapter on directly? My Macbook certainly does. If so then one of these would do the job.

DVI and HDMI video are fully compatible with each other. A simple plug or lead adapter will convert on to the other.
As for USB I would advise getting one with a separate power supply. My experience of Macs is that the power you can drag out of their USB ports is not great. For example I have small USB hard drives that don't work on any Mac I've tried them with. Yet they are fine on PCs or via a powered hub on the Macs.
If the pc that the club is using is dvi, can I get a adaptor and plug it into my hdmi connection on my mac , will it work fine then
Thanks again
Make sure you get HDMI male (plug) to DVI female (socket) eg
