just had an email from STV to say the following
Just a quick note to let you know that we are announcing today our intention to launch STV HD on DSAT in April of next year.

I did undertake previously to let you know when this would be and wanted to update you.

Not sure why they need to wait so long, the channel is already on satellite it just needs to be added to the EPG.

that's a test broadcast, it's not the one they can launch as they need to be able to support micro-regions for advertising.

but yes, the time length is disappointing.

If they are launching micro regions in HD the I wonder if they will do what UTV did on Sky with the SD - HD channel swap?
If so then good as the rest of ITV will then be thinking about it and BBC and C4!

It would be good to finally have the HD PSBs on 101-105 at the very least on Sky for HD pack viewers!
Im sure that later on we will see a more permanent solution too!

makes no difference to you anyway as you're not in an STV area.

I'd guess they're using the switch on of the BBC set of HD channels as the timescale to finally giving us STV HD!

As much as i appreciate STV HD coming to Sky, i really can't stand those, for your chance to win adverts. At least i'll be able to fast forward them now!

All the best programmes are on during the Autumn/Winter months, where most of ITV's budget is spent. Come Spring they'll be nothing worth watching!

Just wondered if there has been an update about STV HD. Is April still looking likely?

what update are you looking for?
they gave April 2014 as the scheduled launch day.
    it's currently January 2014.

30 April 2014 is when you should start asking for "updates".

No need to get like that. I was simply questioning if there had been any push backs or delays. We all know how long this has taken, how many times we've expected progress only for nothing to happen. I was merely wanting to check that everything was still on schedule. I don't keep up to date with all the latest news so may have missed a delay etc.
